Why hallo, thar. In case you were wondering about the title, or thinking back to round 3 and remembering, "Oh wait, you got OWNED by Crimso, didn't you?", this is an unofficial entry. And in case I get spammed with comments, become ultra-sensitive and attention-seeking, I DO have permission to do this little series and put it into the group. So anyway, yep... You guessed it. A Halloween mask! Sorry, no god jokes this round... Or you're welcome, whichever applies to you.
First off, sorry if some of the pieces don't seem very connected, but there wasn't time to actually fully stabilize this in time-mainly due to family issues and several people dying. Anyway.
So there I was, sitting in my commandeered Legoratory (what once used to be the family library), surrounded by mountains of sorted LEGO, pondering over what to build. My original plan was to try and replicate one of my Mom's hats (which are very wavy), but I figured that wasn't very creative, even for my Mom's hats. And yes, I did consider making a hat right out of My Fair Lady, put there was no way I had enough time to plan, build and structure a hat of that size. So... Let's do it.
If I had enough time, I would have LOVED to make the hood part of the mask flexible. But since I didn't, and I've come to loathe this thing so much, I can't really be bothered to do anything other than display it until the end of October. Oh, and this is a comparison of the LEGO mask to the real thing.
I think the main difference between this and a real mask is probably... Actually, I'll let you guys figure it out.
Ah, yes! Close-ups! First off, the mouth. I wanted to create a sense of dirtiness and age, so I made two of the end teeth beige, giving off a disgusting vibe. Note the tooth in blood.
A view of the nose... Or lack of one.
Just a close-up of the top that looks like s***.
The hollow inside of the Halloween mask. Yes, it is not studless.
Another view of the inside.
And now, the (probably) only reason you're looking at this page. Due to this being the Internet, I won't say who I conned into this.
Special thanks go to:
-Chris Phipson, organizer of the MocOlympics, for allowing me to enter these unofficial entires into the MocOlympics group
-Certain members of my family-none of your beeswax
WOW ! I've thought to something like this, but honestly I hadn't been brave enough to build it ! Congrat on a great build, and I must said that it's pretty cool to have an "unofficial entry" on this quality level :)
Now that is just pretty darn COOL! Being as halloween is my favorite holiday (and my wedding anniversery) this one really hit it out of the park for me. And it's a good thing you didn't do a hat from "My Fair Lady" or Kescenovitz would have been beating down your door for it. Thanks for playing along and thanks for sharing! ok, time to go get some voting done! ~ Chris.
