I know it's been a while since my last creation, and that this isn't really something that will wow you after such a long time, but here it is. I know I don't normally build models from real life, but this model has a story behind it. This year in science, I'm in 8th grade physics, and to help study physics, we do research on submarines throughout the year, so really you could say we take submarine class. My Science teacher (who is the coolest, craziest science teacher on the planet) asked me if I could build a model of a cutaway submarine for him, since he had never worked with a model in class. How could I say no? It started out as a simple cutaway section of the reactor compartment and nothing else, but as I looked at more and more cutaway views, I had to build a full scale submarine. The picture I had was of a Swiftsure class nuclear submarine, so that's what I built. I designed the model on lego graph paper, built it on ldd, and ordered the pieces. But the stand and letters are from my own lego collection. Well, I hope you like it.
About this creation
The Lego Factory box
The Reactor compartment, with a barely visible nuclear reactor in the back.
Plans of the side of the submarine on lego graph paper using different colors to indicate how wide the submarine is. The outer layers are thinner, while the inner layers are wider.
Plan of the front and the top using regular graph paper.
