Lego Restoration
Clean and restore old yellowed parts back to normal.
About this creation
Restoring and cleaning old LEGO bricks is something that gives me a lot of satisfaction. When I take a brick that most people might just toss in the trash and bring it back to its initial state, I get a good feeling. Granted some times a brick is beyond repair. Yellowed bricks, once thought to be permanently damaged, have been reversed back to normal. I saw this article on TBB.. HERE and immediately tried it out. I read through all the links on the process and figured out how I was going to do it.

Here are some of my first trials.

This process involves using a high percentage of Hydrogen Peroxide. So please read up and take the necessary precautions before doing this. Maybe help from an adult if needed.

^^ Classic Pirate flag. White with black printing. Process took about 2 hours.

^^ Nasty old clear slope. Process took about 6 hours.

First read everything HERE.

For a bunch of parts I just made a liquid solution. I am planning on doing some baseplates and will use the gel mixture.

For the Liquid:
500 ml - 12% Hydrogen Peroxide
1/4 tsp - Oxy Detergent

WOW!!!! I am so happy with the results. I have turned a bunch of old whites back to their original state. Old gray are also showing good results. Blue, I'm finding a little more difficult. I think I botched the mixture for blue and got some white blooming. Clear, works great. Printed bricks, very nice and no fading in the printing.
