About this creation
When The Manipulator landed on Christophsis, Blast and the other leaders all got out.
“Sir, we have picked up a large fleet coming out of hyperspace. If they are hostile we will not be able to defeat them.” a captain said to Blast.
“Ok . How long have we got?” replied R.K.
“Six hours at the very most sir.”
“Very well. Set up camp here.” Blast looked away from the URS fleet.
The FIS fleet blasted its way through hyperspace, Iadsgb ordering all the engines to be set on maximum power. He needed to get to that planet!
Blast wandered across the crystal field where the URS had set up camp. He gazed up at the towering crystal buildings that made Christophsis so famous. They were on the outskirts of the capital city and as R.K. walked, his mind started going through all sorts of uses for the crystal.
“All this crystal just lying around! Surly it could be used for something!” He thought, then looked round as he heard footsteps.
Falcon came and stood next to him.
“Trying to find a use for it all?” he asked.
“Yer.” Blast replied.
“There must be something; even if it’s just selling it for some credits!” R.K. looked at the glimmering rock.
“Same here. I just can’t think of anything!”
Suddenly they heard a huge crash and shouting from The Manipulator. Fixer had been twiddling with the engines trying to increase the maximum speed. Vassilious had been helping. “Let’s see what’s going on.” Blast said and they walked towards the huge ship.
“What do you mean you connected the red wire to the white! The red goes to the green! Look, take that apart and shove that end on there!” Fixer shouted at Vasilious as he bashed out a rapidly growing fire that the wrong connection had started. They were inside The Manipulator’s engine room. The engine room was right at the very back on the ground floor.
Blast and Falcon arrived. “Hey! What’s going on?” R.K. asked as he saw the flaming electrics.
“Oh, nothing. Vassilious connected the wrong two wires...”
“You told me to!” Nikolaou interrupted Fixer. The mechanic started to argue but Falcon stopped him and asked;
“Well how long is it gonna take to fix?”
“Um...” Fixer suddenly started bashing at a new wave of fiery tendrils and sparks that erupted from the engine.
“At least eight hours.”
“Maybe more. It depends on how bad the internal damage is.” Fixer took off his slightly blackened helmet.
“Can you do it any quicker? The FIS fleet will be here in about 5.” Blast also removed his helmet and pushed back his hair with his hand.
“Hm... maybe. If I have a team of good mechanics then we could possibly do it in seven or at the very best six.” Fixer finished bashing out the fire and looked thoughtfully at his comrades.
Blast thought for a moment. “Very well. I’ll go and get your mechanics.”
Fixer’s face lit up and he beamed as he knelt down, put his helmet on the floor beside him and started opening up the service hatch.
“Way to go Fixer.” Blast smiled and he and Falcon went out again.
In the corridor outside, Blast said, “Falcon, go to the engineering department, get the best you can and take them to help Fixer and Vasilious.”
“Yes sir!” Falcon saluted and ran off leaving Blast with a small smile on his face. He had often told his fellow leaders just to call him Blast or R.K. but they still insisted on saying Sir, or Commander. It made him smile every time.
