Hey, Mechanical Maelstrom checking in with my third custom Star Wars minifigure, the (Phase I) Clone Jet Trooper. This is the first time that I actually put paint brush to plastic at the cost of one of my precious Clone Troopers. Now that I have more, it's not as bothersome.
So here's a backstory. I received the new Lego Star Wars Clone Wars Seperatist Alliance Tank Droid as a gift a while back (which is small, but not a bad model). I was quite excited, as the set included the new Phase I jetpack clone troopers. I was sadly disappointed, however, as the jetpacks were just plain white and a bit unsightly to look at. So, after a while of pondering how nice it would look if I touched the trooper up, I did, and I'm quite pleased.
New main picture. Is it any more eye-catching?
So here are the pictures.
Here's the frontal view of the minifigure. Three dots are the only details I found needed for the torso. As for the helmet, I painted according to the SW Battlefront video game.
Side view. Shows a little more detail of the helmet. Begins to go toward the jetpack.
Shows the jetpack and back of the helmet. Not my favorite picture, though.
So here's what I meant about the jetpacks. I wanted to make it go from "bleh" to "yeah!", and I think I did just that. This was a lousy picture in terms of light, so when I touched it up, it altered the color of the jetpack a bit. Just thought that I'd point that out.
Here's the blaster I made for my trooper. Only two parts.
Here's a little bit of an action shot. The trooper is using his jetpack, aiming his blaster, and priming his thermal detonator.
So, overall, I find this one to be a success. I even got a cool new buddy icon out of it.
Thanks for looking, comments and criticism always encouraged.
