This is the feared and dreaded B-37 Wraith attack bomber. Designed for the attack, medium bombing, interdiction, and night fighter role, the appropriately-named B-37 distills fear within the hearts of the enemy and gives the hard-pressed soldiers of the 25th a sigh of relief.
About this creation
The side view of the B-37. After the Clone Wars, the 25th was hard-pressed in finding a suitable medium/attack bomber. So, taking some old surplus GAR Nu-class attack shuttles, the impeccable engineers and technicians at the 25th came up with the B-37. It packs an extremely heavy punch, with (top to bottom) four wingtip laser cannons, two wing 40mm anti-tank guns, 10 air-ground rockets, two beam lasers, four 10,000-lb bombs, two Iron Hand missiles, two E-2M rocket pods, 6 cockpit cannons, and two 57mm cannons.
Here is a cockpit view of 'Black Sword', a B-37E. It has logged dozens of missions and is flown by a crew of four-shown here are the pilot and the copilot.
'Black Sword' belongs to the 32nd Heavy Attack squadron, with serial number A/VO3BGM7. It has destroyed a few enemy aircraft with its rear gun turret.
Another close up shot of the wing.
The other two crew members, the bombadier/engineer and the gunner/navigator. The bombadier aims the bombs and also repairs anything that goes wrong while his counterpart helps to fly the plane and man the turret. Beside them are 4 7500-lb bombs.
A top view of 'Black Sword'. You can see why it's named that, because there's a literal black sword emblem on the left wing. In the center is the rotating gun turret and to the right is the wing.
