My entry into the Bio-Triathalon #2's Chibi category.
About this creation
I know, I'll lose points for not continuing a theme, but entering Sidorak in the chibi category was something I couldn't resist. The tallest and one of the most complex titans ever to grace the shelves of your local Toys 'R' Us, Sidorak presented a real challenge to chibi-ize.
So I'm digging through my old instruction manuals to find a good picture of Krekka, whom I originally thought I was going to build, and lo and behold! A giant picture of Sidorak jumped out at me. I thought to myself "Now, why not chibi-ize this instead?" So using the picture as reference, I started work on the Spider King.
Here we have a good shot of the heavily bulked-up back. "Hey!" you cry, with a window containing google images open in a sidebar, "Sidorak was skinny to the point of anorexic!" Well, it's Chibi. I took a few liberties with the 'ol Spider King (who I always thought was undernourished anyways).
The switchblade used on Sidorak's arm was annoyingly difficult to shrink down, so it ended up much the same as it is on the large version, with the exception of a different method of extending it. Here we see the blade fully extended.
Ah, the legs. I spent a long time on these, for some reason, probably because the feet were so annoying to duplicate. But I got what I wanted, and the legs ended up fully posable :D
One last picture showing the original Sidorak, in all his titan-sized glory. I wish I could show mine to scale, but unfortunately I used half Sidorak's pieces to make the chibi version. Ah well. Till next time,
