A new mech from LTDS Studios! Named after the deadly bird of prey!
About this creation
Had to rename it o_O
Old name was too hard to pronounce and had people looking like this:
So to avoid further confusions, I gave it a much easier (and more common) name...
Okaaay, moving on...
Hey Guys and Gals! No(taMythbustersripoff)doudt here! Most people call me Nod though! YOU may have known me as Carlo A. All I have to say is "meh" that name got old. That really doesn't matter though, so on to better, brighter topics, yes? Lately I've spent my spare time creating something.........and that something is.........
...big! And hey! It's big alright! It's my latest mecha, the Osprey, named after- wait I already said that... Anyhoo, this is my most recent build (and by recent I mean somewhere between May and June o_O"). Timelines aside, I'm still proud of my work and it makes me happy to see it up and online!
So let's get to it then! I'll start with the torso! Looks nice eh? I wanted to make a good blend of smooth brickery (if that's even a word) and the occasional studs here and there, to give it an overall industrial "mech" look. Half sleek and half rugged!
Next is it's primary arm cannon, forgot how this worked (hypothetically of course ._.) It was built from long 2x6 beams and joined at the bottom with an "L" brick.
The arm cannon in detail. I forgot to mention I got a new camera! A Rebel Model EOS. Hence the better quality photos! (Which MOCpages DE-qualified due to the large size Dx).
On to the next arm, you'll see the Osprey has a shield cannon. Not the most original idea but it sure looks cool!
And while we're at it, check out the head! I really wanted to get the classic "robot" look, rather than the sculpted "faces" most modern mechs have.
Rear thrusters. Nothing worth writing home about, but when viewed from the front, they make the mech look MUCH more intimidating. (Say THAT three times fast >_<)
Chest detail! It's got these nifty cannon things near the head for up-close-and-personal combat. (Thank goodness it doesn't have ears!)
Oh! It's also free standing! I thought of using a technique to "layer" the chest over the legs using an Exo-Force arm joint. This way, the chest could be top heavy, and still freestand on relatively skinny legs!
One last head shot. If you have any questions on how I built this (or the mech in general), ask and thou shall receive! (If I remember to check my e-mail!!)
Well, that's pretty much it! Thanks for looking! I really appreciate it!
While you're here, I'd like to bring up something else. I'm sure people (if anyone) has taken note of my prolonged hiatus. To be honest, I'd like to point out that I haven't given up on this, just somewhat lost interest. Does this mean this is my last creation? Time will tell. But if so, I'd just want to that all the great people (and you know who you are) that helped my other creations become as popular as they are today!
Awesome! I take it that you wouldn't want to meet that in a dark alley (Not that it would fit anyway, but still). Great idea for the head, but how's it supposed to see? I couldn't see much of an eye... Maybe you should make it glow? Catch ya later.
