Alternate model of set 6745 from the Creator series. Made an appearance in Joe Meno's BrickJournal issue 8 2009. If you're interested to recreate the model, there are even instructions which can be found here: http://www.brickjournal.com/view/article/9/
About this creation
Back of the plane with the typical dual vertical stabilizers.
Front view. Because there was no central propellor, they could place guns there, which gave higher precision and accuracy in mid-air combat.
Inspired by the P-38 Lightning.
Profile picture. Actually in real life it doesn't have the wheel on the back...
Ready for take off. The front wheels can be retracted.
The typical shape of this aircraft makes it well known even today.
I had the time today to replicate this one. Thanks for the link to the building instructions - as I did not have much time this evening. it was great to use them. However next time I will try to limit myself to the images. :)
Anyway, about the plane: I found interesting the exhausts and the side of the cockpit. These details really add to the WWII feeling of it.
I hope you will continue to post your MOC's, they give great inspiration.
Hey NathanaŽl: Nice MOC! Sorry I missed it on Brick Journal. Nice color scheme. Way to go with the creative solution for a two prop design. The P-38 has always been one of my favorite airplanes from WWII (maybe because my grandfather was a draftsman for Lockheed). Anyway, great job! 6745 sure is a versatile set. Have you tried your hand at a second MOC from 6745?
