Entry for Shipwrecked Pirates Contest. These poor chaps are stranded on Monkey Island!
About this creation
Pirate Captain Red Bricker and his crew lost a running fight with a Spanish frigate and their fast, little sloop was sunk. The Captain and two crew members were all that survived, but they unfortunately washed up on the ill famed Monkey Island.
The crew found a few odds and ends from other shipwrecks and built a small hut and lookout tower.
They are forced to share the island with five rather psychotic monkeys and three rather loud and obnoxious parrots. (One of the monkeys is hiding behind the hut and can only be slightly seen in the third photo, camera shy apparently.)
Their days are filled with looking for passing ships, fishing and cooking. Oh, and inventing new curse words for the #$%#$^* monkeys who keep stealing their stuff!
Wonder how monkey BBQ would taste….hmmmmmm
Dem Notes: To start off, I took 65 photos of this and only these, rather poor, 7 were of any use. Unfortunately, these shots do not show all the detail and little things I added to the island, which is a shame. I can not simply retake the shots as I have already dismantled this MOC as I built it and took the photos of it back in September. Lesson learned and advice from Dave Shaddix in MOC Pages Advice Group should be followed as regards to taking pictures. Build the creation; stare at it for a day or so to ensure you have everything right. Get the dust, cat hair, etc off of it. Then take your pictures. Then examine your pictures to ensure they look good. When you are satisfied, post the creation. In other words, take your time, which is sound advice. Wish I had read it before I did this creation. Oh well, cheers!

Am I right one of the monkeys is deciding if he should take up the sword?

This is really cool! Why don't the pirates just roast the monkeys?
They have to catch the little jacka**es first!

Where's Guybrush Threepwood when you need him? Great tropical island, I'd hate to have a bunch of apes crawling around at my house.
Thanks. I had to google that to see what you meant, I had no idea their was a game with a similar title. Great, now George Lucas is going to kick my a**.

The whole time I was looking at this I was thinking... why hadn't they whipped up some monkey stir fry? That woulda been one of my first meals! ~ Chris.
What wine goes with Monkey Stir Fry? Aw, who cares! Pass the rum!

That's the second best monkey island i've ever seen...No, just a joke from the videogame series "Monkey Island", nice atmosphere, good pictures and classic building style.

sweet, I love monkeys, and good luck.
Excellent work bones- so classic stuff- i also do have lots of monkeys but i don't have so many great classic pirate parts- btw did the title have anything at all to do with that lucasarts gameclassic- or just coincidence...?
