Here is my model of a real single decker bus operating out of Luton on the route linking Luton and Milton Keynes. When these buses first entered service they were LPG powered, but now run on DAF Diesel engines.
About this creation
Here is a Plaxton Prestige single decker bus. This has been made using dark blue lego parts for the base as I continue to experiment on which colours give the closest resemblance to the real model on which this is based. Arriva seem to alter their colours schemes so what was once green and cream has become bluer and this model, along with the ALX300 i've built, are in the 'inter-urban' livery which has the blue base and green upper half. This Prestige bus has opening doors, green seats, yellow poles and a grey tiled floor to complete the look inside.
Here are pictures showing you around the bus with doors in the opened and closed positions.
One other excellent piece of work! Now you may be doing 8 stud models but you are a master in it. It takes more effort to build a great model in smaller scale than in big scale because your details are bigger and therefore more visible than when you do a bigger model. Great work!
Quoting Sebeus I
Nicely done, I like how you made the front, I don't really see what technique you used to the lower part upside down (with those small slopebricks) but that makes it more interesting, great job
Thank you for your comment Sebeus. Part of the yellow strip at the front is a 1x1 clip which clips on to a bracket which is under the drivers seat. Simple but effective I think.
Thanks again for the comment.
