“The Scarab program is the newest planetary defence force of the U.F.O.liens homeworlds. Main idea of this heavy defence fighter is to arrange as many weapon systems as possible on a small fighter class. The scarab minimizes the space AND offers the pilots a maximum of working ability.
Scarab technical data
ship type: heavy short distance defence fighter
size: no data available
weaponry: 2 laser cannons (far distance); 2 adjustable double energy blasters;
2 quantum rockets; gatling gun
other systems: unknown crystal-supported impulse drive; U.F.O. shield emitters; anti-torpedo
interference signals; subspace and radiation scanners, magnetic envelope lock up system; other
The standart lasers frontsided while blaster weapons can be adjusted by additional pilots, so the scarab can fight in severel directions at same time. And yes, it has an old simple gatling gun, which can be used when energy shut down or small single ground targets selected
Unfortunately, because most devices and systems are build outside the ship, a fly through athmosphere is not a safe idea. Also, there’s no place for a FTL drive, only a powerful and high maneuvable impulse engine is used. The scarab class is used for planetary air fights or for short space defence by greater motherships and space stations.
The ship was designed to give 3 pilots an optimal interior for combat situation. 2 weapon interfaces and one main control interface can be found.
The whole energy for the ship is created by an unknown crystal fusion plant. We can compare it to the Rock Raiders Energy crystal power plants but this one is much smaller and more developed.
This is a bonus moc i build very quick. Originally, i planned to make a second fake-set with a small Alien vessel and an Exploriens defence tower but what i tried, it looked like XXX. So this is nothing special.
This U.F.O. is one of my bigger mocs, i'll use in the new episodes of "The U.M.R.C. project"
More?? Wow, great re-working of these sets. I think I have all these as well, must do something with them. Anyway, love the way you have used all the pieces here to create some new, very cool looking ships!
