Introducing the Experimental Assault. Based on a typical Advanced Frame, the Experimental Assault is equipped with a large pulse rifle and twin pairs of medium capability STS missiles.
This is my fourth micro mech to date, but is not the most articulated. The range of motion in his arms is limited to a few degrees forward and back because of the way the arms are attached to the torso. He can't for example, put his arms above his head. This is further complicated by the missiles on the shoulders. Leg movement is fairly typical, but he can't assume the poses that the CompactFrame-01 can.
There are a few more blueprints in the lab for more Micro-Mecha sporting some different colours from the new X-Pods, so stay tuned!
Update: Thanks for all the feedback! Nick, thanks for your feedback; I chose the red pieces especially to draw attention to certain parts of the model. All white would probably have hidden much of the detail in this little model, so the red pieces give it definition. I checked out Ryax - very nice model, though the all-black colour scheme does make it more difficult to discern all those cool details you've incorporated.)
It's a good design, but I think the color scheme needs work. It sort of looks like a candy cane right now - I'd replace most of the red pieces with white and use the red only as a limited accent color. (See my Ryax model for what I'm talking about. I only used red and grey in a few places. The rest of the model was black.)
But if we're just talking about technical design, it's a fine model. Good job!
EDIT: Ah! You're on to me! I'm fully aware of the undefined look that Ryax has. All that black obscures things terribly, but I can't help it simply because black is what I have most of.
