430 Float Plane
Lego set 430 alternate model: Float Plane.
About this creation
The first lego set I can remember having was the #430 Biplane. I do not ever recall making anything with the 16 pieces (wow, did they really make a set that only included 16 pieces?) other than the basic biplane model.

Today, at lunch, I decided to see what else I could make from the 16 pieces included in this vintage set.

The result was what I call the 430 Float Plane.

This is the original 430 Biplane set (All 16 pieces). As you can see in the image it orginally sold at a store called "Bargain Town" for $1.79. Incidentally, many of the pieces in this particular set had the words "patent pending" imprinted on them during the molding process.

Overall shot of the Float Plane. I wanted to use as many of the 16 pieces as possible--I only lack the wheels (not necessary for a float plane).

The forward stagger wing configuration is noticable from this viewpoint.

A high mounted pusher propeller is essential for a float plane. The lower wing mounted stabilizer floats are clearly visible.
