418 Immobilizer Interdictor Cruiser
The Interdictor Cruiser is a heavy cruiser in the Imperial Navy. It has a very specialized role and is equally valuable in anti-piracy and combat duty.
About this creation
This is another of my capital ship designs. It uses the same 100 meters=4 studs scale as the others.

This ship looks much like a smaller version of an Imperial Star Destroyer, but has the 4 distinctive globes seen protruding from the ventral and dorsal surfaces of the vessel.

These globes are projectors for gravity field generators. They are used to pull ships from hyperspace or simply preventing them from making the jump in the first place.

The gravity well globes were the most difficult part of the construction. This ship has 3 main engines, just like my larger ISD and VSD models.

This is a shot of my Expanded Universe Imperial fleet, ready for battle.

Quoting Gabriel Hughes Dude, your "my scale" scale rocks! I'm working on an Imperial Interdictor cruiser to scale with the Midi-scale ISD. (Is it just me or is it getting scaly in here?) Anyway, it's tricky. If you don't mind me asking, what method did you use to angle the four hull plates?
Thank you for your comments. I really like this scale as it allowed my to make ships large enough to have some detail, but also to build nearly all vessels concurrently without have to break them down for parts to build the next ship. I basically made the upper and lower halves with a 1 x 2 plate with bar and vertical clips. I then used a standard 3 tooth to 2 tooth hinge internally to allow the to halves to slope both inward and forward. I will try to add some internal shots of the ship (and perhaps my Star Destroyers and Venator as well) to show how the wedge shape was created.

Quoting Cortez Frost Looks fantastic! The hull, gravity well projectors, engines and the bridge all look accurate and well done!
Thank you. I hadn't seen a lot of these out there, so I just had to make one for my own scale collection. I have many more ships to add, from KOTOR era to the Expanded Universe. Check back as I plan to add some soon.
