2009 WinterMocOlympics, Round 5, Jamaal Blanchette VS. captain Chill (Rori)~
Welcome folks, to the Official News Station of the 2009 WinterMocOlympics! We are currently in round 5, and today we have Jamaal Blanchette VS. captain Chill (Rori)~! We have an indepth report on Jamaal's creation, where he talks about why he loves LEGO!
About this creation
captain Chill (Rori)~

1.) LEGO in my opinion is not just a building toy, but a form of art, and this is one of the reasons why I love LEGO. Using Lego, you can replicate real artworks, make mosaics, or make your own piece of artwork in so many ways.

2.) For those of us currently in school, and for those lucky ones who have already finished school, you can recall being assigned a project or presentation am I right? Well through experience, one solution to either helping to boost your mark, or either give you a good mark in general is to build something out of LEGO relating to the topic of whatever you are doing. When teachers and students see that you have taken the creative route of using LEGO and it looks good, you will have your classmates crowding around what you have built, and a smile on your face at the end of the day. (thats if the rest of your presentation is good)

3.) Another reason why I love LEGO is because it can be used as an interactive educational tool. The youngest of my siblings who is currently two years of age takes an interest in LEGO, and sometimes I would build with her, and layout a number of bricks on the floor, and I would teach her how count them. Now she knows how to count up to 10 both in french and english! In a more general sense, LEGO is used as an educational tool in schools around the world. For example, a friend of mine is currently doing a "Gears" unit for science, and his class is using specific LEGO sets as a way to build things with gears.

4.) In times when you just want to be alone, in your room, with peace and quiet, or its a rainy day outside and you have nothing to do, LEGO comes to the resque. At times, when I'm bored, want to pass time, or even when im stressed in a way, I go to my room, take out my buckets of LEGO, and just start building whatever comes to mind. My point is, LEGO is a way for me to sit down, relieve my stress and relax.

5.) Have you ever heard someone saying "just use your imagination", and you still have no idea on what to do? Well, in the case of LEGOs the "just use your imagination" statement is perfect. Usually an inspiration is what sparks up an idea of what you want to build, but its your imagination which actually forms your end result. One of my reasons for loving LEGO is the fact that it allows you to let your imagination run wild, and create anything from Dinosaurs, to Cars, to Buildings and many more, and not just that, but to know that you will have the feeling of satisfaction once you have completed what you have built.

6.) There are many ways to spend family time, play with friends, and do community activities, but there is one particular way of doing all of these things... and that is building with LEGO! LEGO helps to bring families and communities together, for example, at times, my brothers, sisters and I would all go into my room and talk, joke, make fun of, while building LEGO, and I think this helps to bring us closer as family. As for the community, events such as BrickWorld and such which is basically a LEGO involved event, brings hundreds of people from the community and other places, together to admire the work of LEGO builders, and have fun.

7.) All in all, there are many reasons why I love LEGO, but my most favourite reason for loving LEGO is the fact that it is UNLIMITED. What I mean by this is that the building possibilities are endless. If over 100 people were given all of the pieces in the above picture, I can gurantee you each and everyone of them will build something completely different, and this is what attracts me to LEGO so much, the fact that it will never end. I like to think of it as a never ending stream of chocolate milk (YUM) :D

I would just like to say good luck to my worthy opponent and a special thanks to Commander Flare for running a cool contest :)
