Big Bug Broadcast Bot
Is that poor spacegoer about to get squashed in a fit of rage by some huge malevolent spider-bot? No! That is the Big Bug Broadcast Bot filming our local news anchor-woman.
About this creation
This was the first thing I started working on after the civilian contest was announced. It was also the last thing I completed before the contest ended.

The idea behind it is that the bot can operate as its own news team. It can be dispatched from the station, cover any type of terrain, film the action, and broadcast that signal back to the station all without any support. It can also work as part of a news team, acting as cameraman, mixing station, broadcaster, etc.

The tall thing is a dual camera. It can take video with depth perception for holographic broadcasts. The part with the red 'eye' is the 'head' of the robot.

The bot ended up a lot wider than I expected. The body is rather small.

   So cool looking

The big ol' dish on the ass-end is the main broadcast antenna. It beams the signal to satellites or the network headquarters.

   Here's our favorite news anchor-lady.

"That's right, Ted, scientists at the Armstrong laborotory have determined that the moon actually IS made of cheese."

"Specifically, it is a mixture of provalone and swiss, with a hint of pepper jack and sprinkled with bits of those little round cheeses that come with those Christmas gift baskets from the office."

The legs on this moc kept collapsing, so it deserved this shot. The legs may look cool but they are a serious pain to work with. I couldn't even get it to stand on 5 legs.

Wow, that's great! It's a pity when great MOCs like this get insufficient recognition. Wonderful job; you really captured the Classic Space theme. Looks great; nice greebles. One criticism, though: The dual cameras look better suited to be the head (has that spindly, gawky look- which is classic spacey). The red eye should be the cam... or a stun-cannon to zap disheveled violent moon-goers frustrated with slow internet speed provided by bug-bot.

Um, Darth Revan malevolent means you have violent intentions. Are you using a dictionary, or a thesaurus? Because that's the opposite of what it really means.

Very nice! P.S., malevolent means nonviolent.

The blue accents really stand out to me and make this MOC quite pleasant to look at.

Pretty cool and well thought out. I like it when random robots and things have some reasoning behind them. Too bad about the legs collapsing though. And the long neck thing looks really un-spider-ly...
