Theta-class
About this creation
Incom's Theta-class AT-AT Barge
The Theta-class AT-AT barge is one of two dropships used by the Empire to deliver its main assault walker. Though it is similar in general shape to the Y-85 Titan dropship (four AT-AT capacity), the Theta-class is smaller and only carries one AT-AT. It's size allows it to be use on the Class II Star Destroyers, which cannot accommodate the Titan-class in their hanger.
Because of the barge's size, the walker has to be carried with its legs slightly bent and unprepared for immediate combat. Only after being dropped off can the walker extend its legs fully and enter battle, though this only takes a moment.
The Theta-class barge is powered by two banks of massive repulsor units housed in engine rooms on the side of the craft. These are serviced through hatches that open on the sides.
The craft does not carry any armament, but is heavily armoured and can withstand heavy fire in the LZ.
These pictures are from the successful Imperial assault on the Rebel base on Hoth and show lead elements of Blizzard Force landing on the Moorsh Moraine.

Hi Christian, this was a very difficult build. The problem was making it strong enough to hold it's own weight, then that of the ATAT. I do not have any instructions but there is a picture of it under construction at the bottom of this page. Good luck with building one! |

Wow, you make having an AT-AT baby look sexy!!! Hahaha, in all seriousness, the drop shuttle is a wicked feat of lego engineering. I am curious how much it weighs even with all the plates.
I made the model so it could lift the AT-AT, using elasticated straps under the AT-ATs' belly, so loaded the barge weighed about 5.5kg, the barge unloaded, about 3kg. |

That's realy good. It must have taken a lot of parts. About how many? My guess is about 2,000.
I did not count the parts, but I know I spent alot at Bricklink. |

I remember these from the Days of Force Commander... *Nostalgia* You're model is a bit stubby though. Perhaps make the nose longer... I haven't played Force Commander since I was 8, but I seem to remember the AT-ATs being stored Legs fully ready... *Shrug* Doesn't really matter. You've made a nice, big ship there. Kudos. |
