A fully functioning Remote controlled Lego Technic 8264 Hauler

This is my 3rd attempt to completely remote control a lego technic kit. This kit for the most part was a pretty simple build to add full remote functions. I had visited NXT Liftboy's site and found that he had already done this to one of these sets. Although he had no building instructions posted at the time. I did use his idea of using 2 m-motors for propulsion and steering which works out very well. I for the most part had to figure this out on my own. I made the dump feature work remotely and added lights. 1 remote (soon to be 2) 3 m-motors, 1 Battery Box, 2 IR receivers, and lights.

A huge discovery from NXT Liftboy's building instructions show the small nylon washers, which are needed throughout all lego builds as tolerances are not as tight as they need to be. I do not have the washers in this model, but it could sure use them.

There is no single steering motor. The 2 motors you see in the second to last picture are for steering, you power one, it turns that direction, you power the other it turns the opposite direction, power both and you move forward. I hope that helps.

I found a Moc here after I built mine, NXTliftboy who had already done this. He didnt have step by steps up yet. If you visit his MOC site, you can use the step by step that he posted. Basically using 2 M-motors for propulsion and steering.
