Special present?! Nooo, I want it now; I want the children to see!
About this creation
Lately I've been bitten by the architecture bug and have been experimenting with building, er, buildings. I quickly remembered why I don't do buildings: not enough parts! I know, I know; I could build in microscale-but that's for other Shannons, not this one! Anyway, these were a lot of fun; when I was a kid I remember loving the whole retro-space thing, that Jetsons-type of future: going out with friends to a diner on the moon...these mocs are kinda messing sround with those old daydreams of mine.
Modernist style unit:
Something a little more stylish/expensive. This home comes with a force-field generator which provides a bubble of oxygen-handy for those fancy pants dwellings which are too cool for four walls!
Dr. Smithson's Love Pad, the ultimate in hedonistic lifestyle design. The Doc is rich enough he can afford a unique getaway that doesn't need any walls at all (thanks to a massive force-field generator). Complete with spa, water bed and bar, this is THE weekender for the playboy of 2080!
Time to finish on something a bit more quaint: Grandma Dimplebottom's house (Boring fact: this moc is actually based off my own grandmothers house). Old Granny Dimplebottoms's got a large antenna so she can watch all her stories and, oh look! Her Cyberoses are coming into bloom! Awwww....
Also rans! One looks like a giant robot and the other house was put to sleep because it was too ugly:
The best thing with those awesome buildings, is obviously the concept and the great looking style they all had, but also that I wouldn't be surprised to see them in a large CS diorama, standing near a whole fleet of 6929 :-)
First... sorry I didn't comment on this before... had some personal stuff come up and took a couple days off. Second, and I'm just going to go out there and say this. You sir, are a GENIUS! I was happy with the main pic, but it just kept getting better and better with each moc! The second to last one was particularly well done and the grandma house gave me a warm fuzzy. Great work all round! ~ Chris.
Wow mate! This is so 50's tylised it isn't funny, but in classic space and with modern LEGO construction techniques. Really artsy stuff here, they coulkd almost make an ideas book out of it. Makes me want to get the bricks out again.
Mr. Ocean, you've outdone yourself! These houses capture that Jetsons look perfectly, especially the third one. As one who was enthralled by all the glossy artists' representations of the future during my childhood, I am delighted to give you a 5.
