Castle Tower
My Round Castle Tower. This was very fun to build.
About this creation

After seeing some other Moc's where this technique was used I had to try it out. Nearly the entire tower is built of 1x2 bricks and 1x round's. I added some Lion heads and a ring of castle windows to spice it up. Over all I think It turned out great. I would have loved to go much bigger and taller but after using 650 1x round's this was as big as I could go. I have to say this system of building is highly enjoyable. The trouble areas were two fold, first, trying to get floors added inside the tower was a challenge because the plates are squared and then trying to get this thing mounted on a base was impossible to I decided to just let it stand alone. If anyone knows how to "stick" this type of tower down on a base plate, let me know. I always enjoy feedback so feel free to comment.

This is a magnificent tower, and the construction method is one I'm certainly going to try when I can turn my attention to my "medieval" universe. I'm not sure how to add floors, but I'll be experimenting with that too. As to the base plate. There are bound to be at least two points which will line up with a base plate's studs. I suggest you locate them, using 1x1 pieces to set them in place. You can use flat tiles, 1x1 or 1x2 to place under the rest of the circular wall. It's a technique I use for sub assemblies that need to rotate.
