Reliant Scimitar GTE
Is it a sports car or a station wagon? That's the question asked most about the GTE, which is remembered as a very practical vehicle. But with its fiberglass body work, a stiff chassis, and a powerful Ford V6, it was also a very fast, sporty little machine. It's also one of my favorite British cars!

Alright, let's get inside now.

Oh, yeah! The wheel is on the right side of the car, which is a first for me.

I'm very happy with the chassis, but there's something I don't understand. When I looked up the chassis diagram, the Scimitar appeared to have two sets of mufflers! One in the middle of the chassis, and one just in front of the exhaust tips. Anybody who knows what this is all about, please explain!

Drum roll, please!

For my first V6, it turned out pretty sweet.

But with all this engine space, why didn't they put something bigger in here, like a Mustang V8?

A little bit bigger... Keep in mind, it isn't quite to scale with my other cars. In real life, the Scimitar would be about the same size as the Mustang, if not just a little smaller.

If anybody would like to know how these rims are built, just let me know. I'll post some instructions in my building tips folder, if you're interested.

Everything's open...

As always, I'm open for your constructive criticism and suggestions. Thanks for viewing, and I hope you enjoyed your visit!

Awesome! I love Reliant Scimitars! Oh, and the body style of this car is called "shooting brake". It means 2-door sports wagon, I'm not sure where they came up with the name :) Awesome work as usual! This is one of your best! 5/5

Sweet! Never thought I'd see an American post a Scimitar - everyone seems to think Reliant only made 3 wheelers. As always, very good job, although I think most of the GTE's had square rear lights, rather than round one's (which the early coupes had). 8/10 : )
