Iron Lion
A steampunk exploration vehicle.
About this creation
This is my first attempt at Steampunk (I hope to do many more) and I am fairly pleased with it. It is just meant to be a steam-powered exploration vehicle, appropriate for taming dangerous jungles and the like.

Please note: I mixed the old and new greys on purpose, to give the vehicle and old, parts-don't-quite-match look. If you do not like this design choice, fine - you might even be right. But please don't just accuse me of not knowing better, since it was a conscious decision.

The cabin, while not very roomy, is chock full of gauges and controls for piloting the Iron Lion through even the most hostile environments.

Here is a nice shot showing the overall shape of the vehicle. You can see Professor Pepperidge in the cabin, about to start the engine.

Directly behind the controls we find the furnace, ready to accept another load of coal to power the double engine.

The rear. If you ever see this view, it's probably because the Iron Lion just rolled over your now dead carcass.

And the right side. for some reason I like this side of the Lion, much better than the other side - I just think that the detail work on this side is much superior.

And here is a shot of Tonto Banthapoodu. Tonto believes he is the offspring of a Navajo priestess and a Tusken Raider war chieftan. Nevertheless, he is Professor Pepperidge's unfailingly loyal and unflinching able sidekick and bodyguard.

A closeup of the professor and Tonto. Where did those pistoleros come from?

Very creative and unique steampunk creation Roy. Since its steampunk I thought I'd send an invitation to my forum featuring eras from steampunk to space: We could use another member with great building skills like yours, thanks

Ever since seeing the movie "Steamboy" I've actually thought about dabbling in the "alternative history/steam punk" area. Your model really has the steam era feel to it, and your photoshop skills are pretty good too. ; )
