This is my first attempt at a scale technic car. It isn't modeled after any particular car; I just wanted to try to make a front engine car (which was the biggest design challenge of this model.
About this creation
The build was patterned after a "frame and body" design. The engine has fiber optics from an old set as spark wires and exhaust tubes running through the frame to the mufflers. I was able to add 4 wheel independent suspension while maintaining a low engine profile - which took several redesigns.
The transmission is mated to the rear of the engine with 4 speeds (borrowed from the old super car kit). I was able to compact it to the center of the frame by replacing one of the gears with a differential.
The trunk, hood, and doors open but don't have anything to lock them open. I attached mini rubber bands to ball joints to prevent the doors from flapping open.
i agree with oscar. i think that if you adjusted the angle of the windshield so that it is at a lesser angle the bendy bar thingys will flatten out a little and get rid of some of the "bulby"ness but otherwise very good work!
