Iberia set of aircraft
Boeing, Airbus, Iberia, Mc donnell douglas, airplane, jet, aircraft
About this creation
These were made quite a while ago before my lego building techniques improved and are a good example of how I believe I have improved over the years in lego building. Still a long way to go before I can even consider myself good.

These 2 aircraft are susposed to be an A340 and MD88, both of the spanish airline Iberia. Nothing much to say about them except that the livery is nicer than my usual euro white liveries and that they were enjoyable to build.

Having already built a large 8 stud wide a340 before, looking at these pictures has made me want to build a 8 stud wide a340 in iberia colours so that is my current project, now that it is summer time and my exams are nearly finished (wahey!!!)

As I have mentioned before, THESE ARE OLD AIRCRAFT and therefore I can pick out so many things wrong with the models.

i.e. the wings are wrongly shaped, the engines are two small, the aircraft isn't long enough etc when I build the bigger iberia a340.....I should have fixed all these.

And as usual.....sorry for the low quality photos! The camera was not on the correct distance setting.

This little md88 didnt take too long to build and despite that, it kind of looks cool!

Looks terrible from this view. Its a very 'blocky' model

Opps, the middle gear should have 4 wheels on it. I didnt know that at the time.

My aircraft these days dont usually include flaps, but I did used to build them now and then.

The MD-88 is my favorite of this pair. For some unknown reason I like T-tails more than normal tails!

David, my oldest daughter and I have spent the past few minutes looking over your excellent models of airplanes. We decided to review this particular entry as we do not have the time this evening to review them all. My daughter is particularly attracted to these models because of their color scheme. We both like the way that, in all your models, you use colored elements to indicate the paint scheme on the aircraft. Your planes are much bigger than my daughter's (which you recently reviewed...thanks very much). Yours also are made using a "studs-up" method. We wonder if you have tried a "studs-forward" method? Also, my daughter was excited when she noticed that you used a bunch of "Spanner-plates" to attach the tail to the fuselage. In my mind, this sort of exchange is exactly what is all about. You are certainly an accomplished builder of airplanes, and your took the time to reveiw and thus encourage a younger, less experienced builder to keep learning and to keep improving. My daughter thinks that she has a lot to learn from you...she says that she will take some time to review your models closely and will try to use some of the things that she has learned from your work in her next airplane model...(she says it will be some sort of delta-winged plane).
