Froggy Multi-Use Mecha
To: The Directorate From: Research and Development, subsection 9. Subject: Alternate Mecha Frame
About this creation
Dear Directorate, it has come to our attention that our current hardsuit and mecha variants are too bulky for specialized or delicate operations. With this in mind, we have designed and built the first of a possible new series. We would like to begin our presentation with the basic frame of the mech, to get general idea of what it can be modified for.

The pilot sits forward in the mech to allow increased visibility, and to leave the main body free to the reactor.

The rear power unit can be exchanged for a variety of upgrades or modifications, and will not reduce the effectiveness of the mech. This version has been built with an additional power unit to increase speed and strength, and add aesthetic appeal. Mostly the aesthetic appeal though. The back just looked so empty...

Next, we have a lumber variant. I'm sure you're all aware that colonization is on the rise, and many colonies are going to need a small and easily transportable mech to help in clearing settlement areas, gathering lumber for construction, and other tasks involving hacking and slashing.

As you can see here, this particular logger is equipped with a MK-7 Doomsaw, our most efficient small-scale chainsaw. We hope to equip it with a bigger one soon.

Demonstrated here is the log rack, where sections of wood can be stored. Because this particular model was not specifically built to carry logs, it can only hold one.

And finally, another overview of the logger variant.

Next, we have a particularly useful variant, the A-9 Repair Mech. This mech can be used in almost any situation imaginable. This mech can wield tools to seal breaches in a Starships hull, to fix broken weapon systems, or even repair other Mecha of it's class.
We recommend this variant be fast-tracked to production.

The mech is currently equipped with a general loadout, which as stated before, can be changed out for any situation.

The tool rack on the back has replaced the secondary generator, giving it more storage space.

The rear tool rack is a simple construction, but effective.

And finally, we believe that you will find the combat variant to be the most interesting of them. It comes standard with one close-combat power weapon, one high-caliber carbine rifle with grenade launcher, and a parachute harness.

Here is a side view of the variant. Relatively standard except for the armament.

The Grav Chute harness is depicted here. It's a simple system that prevents most screw ups and should help in lowering user error.

The Combat Variation is shown here with a Grav Chute attached, making use of that harness.

As you can see, the Grav Chute comes off easily enough that field operation shouldn't be too complicated.

However sirs, we would prefer to avoid scenarios like this:

Please ensure that the Grav Chutes are fully charged before deploying them.

This concludes our report on the mecha themselves. For more information, we have a booklet of recorded incidents that should be arriving in a day or two, and a separate file on possible conversions attached. We hope you will consider this design for production in the future.

Awesome job ribbits... Thought I would see some of what you do since we will soon be on the same team. I saw this and I was wondering have you heard of Christopher Doyle?? He does a lego comic strip and this kinda looks like one of the mini mechas. AWESOME!!!

Thanks guys! @000 and Waffles: This is still an experimental unit. We're mostly looking to deploy it in non-combat situations. Military versions will of course be slightly more armoured. We're thinking a Cardboard Box should do the trick. @Henrique: I've read some of it, but as far as I'm aware the only thing it bears incredible similarity to is an AMP suit from avatar. If I'm wrong, I'd be happy to give credit though. @Skiver: Thank you, it was a fun build. I can't wait to see what other possibilities are in store for this particular design. @Garth: Versatility was a must for this baby. @Jibs: Those forests won't know what hit them...

LOL, though I have to agree with Waffles... doesn't the frog need armour,or is that how much value for life the frog empire has?

Awesome. But shouldn't froggy have some kind of armor? Or maybe he has too good pwnage skills... ~Waff
