My name is Diver, and I'm a soldier in the Grand Army of the Republic. I serve in Captain Rex's division. This is my story of my misadventures upon the planet Quar'kaan.
We stretched our stiff muscles coming off the Venator ram after a long, inter-stellar flight. We'd arrived at Quar'kaan, a back-water Outer Rim planet. Bleak and desolate, the Separatists seem to have established a presence here. Like heck they have.
Jedi Master Kit-Fisto briefs us on the upcoming mission.
Fisto:"We are here to investigate a Separatist presence. We are simply to confirm or deny this, and return to the fleet."
Sure, the same crap they always spew. Of course, the stupid Padawan will charge in there and all us clonies will get our brains fried.
We trudged through the desert, hoping to find signs of civilization, but the horizon remained clear. Wearily, we traveled on.
We finally find signs of life.
Rex:"Put your guns, down! Now!"
Fisto:"Calm down, Captain Rex. They could be here to help us."
Fisto:"How may we be of service?"
Task Force Leader:" Actually, we were hoping we could be the ones assisting you. My name is Rayce Gunnar, and I'm the leader of this planet's security task force."
Rayce:"There is an establishment a parsec to the west of here."
We spied the establishment in the distance, a cube-like building with a receding roof.
It wasn't exactly what we were expecting.
Fisto said he'd talked to the bar tender, and get some answers.
He greeted the droid, and struck up a conversation.
Ahsoka and I were left to our own devices, and that went downhill quick.
Ahsoka tried to take a stab at communicating with a slightly inebreated wookiee.
Whatever she tried to say, came out in real wookie as, "Your mother is a Kowakian Monkey Lizard."
The wookiee was outraged. I tried to step in...
...but I was too late.
The wookiee calmly sipped his beer and returned to his previous conversation.
Fisto tapped me on the shoulder and informed that he had all the information he needed, but we had to leave immediately. Wasn't to concerned about the orange chick.
On the way out, though, he happened to trip over one of her arms.
The last thing I saw was Rex leaning into the doorway, shouting something when a cold, hard object hit the back of my head.
I awoke on the floor of some strange cell, aching all over.
I hauled myself up and leaned against the frigid, forbidding walls.
I saw that the only way out was up, but some projections with orange lights were in my way. I jumped.
I laned on the projections, but suddenly a fire coursed through my body.
I fell back down, trembling form the pain and the electricity still in me.
But I had to get out. I prepared myself for the upcoming, and for the leap.
I landed once again, and once again was greeted by the same pain. But I held on, and dragged myself out.
Now, it was time to run.
I hurled myself down the hallway, my mind racing, trying to calculate the odds of a portal to escape through, and where one would be located.
Suddenly, I came to a dead end.
In despair, I plopped down upon the floor. Tired and worn out, I was about to give up hope. Then I saw it.
A button! Without prior thought, I pressed it.
The floor gave way under me and I started falling, falling. Strangely enough, I began to sense a change in direction. I stopped. I started crawling towards the light, and I emerged into the outside world.
It felt like Deja Vu. I was behind the counter, in the same bar I was in before.
The only difference was, the bar was deserted, except for some bodies.
I hopped over the bar, and found that the bodies were members of the planets security task force.
I removed the katana from the impaled unfortunate.
The others appeared dead, too.
I walked over to another security member.
I shoved him over, waiting for a reaction.
He simply fell.
I rushed out of the bar, hoping I could get to the ship in time.
I hurried through the desert, but it seemed I was losing a battle against dehydration.
I tripped, and as I fell, I realised I wasn't getting back up.
I lay there, and quickly lapsed out of consciousness.
It seemed hours later when two vaguely familiar figures stood over me, conversing in low voices.
They rolled me over, and seemed to decide on some course of action.
Everything went black again when I was lifted up...
Once back on ship, and rehydryated, I heard the full story...
Apparently, a member of the "Security Task Force" whacked me on the back of the head with the butt of his gun. Rex and Kit-Fisto took out the other Security members, but not before they got some Seppy droids to drag me away. They didn't know where I'd been taken, so they decided to regroup with the fleet and storm the planet. Rex, upset that I'd been taken, snapped once they were about to leave the planet, and ran back after me, with Fisto at his back. They found me, and brought me back on the ship. Combining our information, we deduced that the Task Force were the Separatist presence, but we didn't get them. Where we encounter them next, I'm not sure...
I spent a while on the bar, and all it's details were not shown in full, do to editing. So, here they are:
Space ninja monkey goes Matrix on some random drunk guy.
The kegs. One for regulars, one for loonies, and the big one in case Chris comes to town.
Robo bar tender hands glass to a scientist adn fills up a mug. The robot was really fun, he even has a waistflap.
The taps and liquor shelf. Since I couldn't find a better way to make the bottles, I used Dave Shaddix's technique in his "Walking the thin brown line". Also, the taps were just kinda based on what else I've seen on the pages, since I never pay attention to details during the Silverado bar scene.
Heath should get that one.
A Mandolorian is pushing his luck at Texas Hold-Em and raking in the cash.
Yoda calmly surveys the scene while nibbling a turkey leg.
Quoting Yuri Fassio
Addendum: I forgot to mention - "There is an establishment a parsec to the west of here." So they take a stroll to a settlement in another star system! You should check your astronomy, man :)
I just tried to throw in something Star Warsey, wasn't really paying attention to actual distance. XD
You clearly spent a good amount of time developing a story and builds for this creation. The only thing that's holding you back right now is that some of the pictures are a little dark and the focus waivers on a few. I award 3 points to this creation.
I guess the "dark" pics were like that intentionally, the later bar details saved you from losing some points. I. Nice one. Love the bar and laughed at the arm scene. some pics are out of focus: remember to use the macro for closeups. 3 points for this. It could have been more, maybe, without the inprisonment/escape scene: it seemed more than a bit rushed when compared to the rest of the page.
