Logan Starfire's Jedi Interceptor V. 4 (Final Version)
Final iteration of my sig-fig's (Logan Starfire, of course) personally modified Jedi Starfighter... nicknamed "Interceptor". Major modifications from earliest model listed below.
About this creation
This is the final iteration of my sig-fig's personal modified Jedi Starfighter. Changes from the original are numerous, including changes in color scheme and flow, wing placement, R2 astromech holding bay security, cockpit storage, underside armor, engine stability, weaponry, and landing gear. I'll detail more below, and you can see the progress for yourself by clicking on the links to the left (Here for V. 1, here for V. 2, or here for V. 3). I worked on this ship for about a month and a half in my spare time, and took a lot of suggestions from the fine folks over at FBTB Forums along with my own ideas. Thanks to everyone for their input, and please, leave a comment below...

Here's a recap on the ship and Logan Starfire's history...

Logan Starfire

A Jedi Knight of the New Order, Logan Starfire trained with Luke Skywalker after the events of Return of the Jedi. Widely regarded as a master with a quick-trigger temper, Starfire nevertheless was a major influence in dismantling the remnants of the old Galactic Empire after the demise of Emperor Palpatine at the hands of Darth Vader, otherwise known as Anakin Skywalker, father of Luke Skywalker. His weapons are a Jedi lightsaber, and a blaster pistol.

His Force sensitivity was detected by Luke Skywalker after guidance and direction of the Force spirits of deceased Jedi Masters Yoda and Obi-wan Kenobi; and was contacted on one of the inner moons of Endor. Starfire immediately began training in the ways of the Force with Skywalker, quickly learning the skills that would lead him across the galaxy, hunting down the remnants of the Empire, leaving no chance for escape in his custom modified Jedi Starfighter, nicknamed the "Interceptor"

Jedi Interceptor

The Jedi Interceptor is a custom designed 4th generation Starfighter, a hybrid modeled after the version seen in "Attack of The Clones" and the Rebel Snowspeeder from "The Empire Strikes Back". It also draws influence (and it's name) from the TIE variant, Interceptor. Its wide body allows for streamlined gliding capabilities, and stealth cloaking (as evidenced by the non-navigational R2 unit in the port side wing). The elongated wings provide stability and control, with touch sensitive manueverability. The outer engines provide main thrust, with bi-directional capability, and the center booster enables hyperdrive. This is a first for the Starfighter series, as all previous incarnations required a hyperdrive ring to support interstellar travel. The landing gear is retractable, and provides weight and stability to the craft, as well as versatility for landing the craft on virtually any terrain. The cockpit is extra long, with a small pit for the pilot and space for the R2 astromech navigational unit in the rear. The back of the cockpit is a storage area for personal weapons, along with any other personal items the pilot may carry, along with a smaller cargo hold in the front cockpit.

Again, please leave a vote and a comment at the bottom. Constructive criticism is welcome... if you liked it, tell me why. If you didn't, tell me why also...

The wings are angled and longer than the body of the craft to support manueverability and stability. They are offset from center to both balance the ship's weight and increase terminal velocity and range of motion.

The navigational R2 astromech unit is in the rear behind the cockpit, enclosed in the holding and control arms for support and security. The secondary function R2 unit is housed in the wing, providing cloaking and stealth capability support.

Here you can see the weapons clusters on each wing and on the outer edges of the body on both sides. The wing weapons are long- and short-range blaster cannons, while the inner body clusters are anti-ship blaster cannons, and light- and heavy-weight torpedo bays.

Fleet insignia shows on wing, along with improved color flow, stabilized wing and engine details, communications antennae, top side weaponry, and a sneak peek at the rear landing gearpads.

Same as starboard minus fleet insignia. R2 non-navigational unit hold is located on this side, with astromech providing interface for stealth, cloaking, anti-radar defense, interstellar communications and enemy bogey location coordinates.

Outer bi-directional thrust engines and center hyperdrive booster.
Outer engines are stabilized by wing support on three sides, as well as ship aerodynamics. Hyperdrive manifold is located in ship's hull in rear, immediately behind the booster.

Landing gear is retractable, shock absorbing, quadruped, non-slip, and offset from front gear to provide strength and durability, along with multi-surface capability.

Forward and aft landing gearpads exposed to show width of ship, building dynamics between pads and ship, and the offset pattern designed to hold the ship's weight without compromising the aerodynamics and integrity of the spacecraft.

Underside view with landing gearpads retracted.

This view provides a clear view of the retracted gearpads, showing the minimal space needed to operate gears, and non-interference of ship dynamics.

Blended in nicely with the color flow in the rear of the ship.

Note: This was the only good angle I could get the picture in... sorry about my hand being there.

I glanced at the earlier pics of this interceptor and I am impressed. You manage to take a decent fighter into something completely different. It is incredible and keep up the good work.

It's been great watching this ship advance in shape and style and your technique grow too. I always liked your cool double cockpit style and I like the latest look of your jedi. Keep it up, this is really good.
