About this creation
Using other Star Wars parts to better use.

Step 1:  Part List.  The white backstud came from the X-Wing Fighter set.  You got 4 of them as reflector lights, but I used them here instead.

Step 2:  Put the black dots onto the ring and handle plates.  The "4" tile can be of any pattern, I just have a lot of these.  You are going to want to see some white in the end to help break up the black mass.  You'll see.  :)

Step 3:  Put the two sub-assemblies together.  Do not worry that the top does not snap flat - you'll need this angle later.

Step 4:  Attach to the backstud.

If you haven't noticed by now, I replaced the yellow head with a black one.  The reason being is that the underneath uniform comes up past the neckline and hence, you really wouldn't see any skin.

The backstud adds just enough height to be able to turn your helmet past his shoulders - which is a good thing since he's more posable now!

Notice the white "4" paint and pack angle?  :)

Quoting Tim Collier I have 15 sandtroopers on my Cantina moc all of whom will be sporting your Re-Breather soon once I have the parts. Excellent work on the improvement.
Thank you Tim for making me smile. It feels good to have helped on a diorama or to fuel someone's imagination. Many thanks!

fyi, it's an equipent backpack (for carrying enhanced comlinck units & stuff [sandstorms can cause interfearence over regular channels]) I like the design though. When I got the imperial landing craft (7659, not 7667) I was lazy enough to just give them all black oxygen tanks that kind of looked like their backpacks...

Very neat! I have tried so many attempts at trying to make one of these, but now I have some cool instructions! Thanks! I just don't know how some people make detailed backpacks and guns for their minifigs. It would take me hours to come up with this! If you haven't visited it yet, my MOCpage has all kinds of Star Wars MOCs.
