My first rover design. CAUTION "this design is a failure, but a good learning experience"
About this creation
DESCRIPTION AND STATS (scroll down please) all the way down.....

Six Wheel rover

-3 M-motors (1 for drive and 1 for steering) and a 3rd to lift the Camera boom up and down
-2 battery boxes
-A camera mount (with lights)
-6 wheels
- the end axles have steering connected to a center turning shaft

rover Objectives

-scan the room for objects (FAILED)
-have small turning circle (COMPLETED)
-be relatively fast (plausible)

this was my first rover design. be warned cause i consider it a fail. it was fast but it was driven by the middle axle. that meant that the rover had trouble crossing e.g. from wood to area rug. and this made it impractical. also i failed to put into account the weight of the 2 battery boxes. the weight was actually bending the plastic. the camera mount is from an official set. the Compact Excavator set.and mounted it on top of the rover. then the up and down motion was operated by a motor driven from a chain link (tank treads) to the input shaft of the up and down mechanism. so as for my very first power functions model and rover its a 3/10 for me. i consider 2 things that i learned. the reduction of the steering is vital and the wheels should be powered.
