U.S.S Voyager v2 refit
This is my U.S.S Voyager v2 refit. It is the same size and shape and still has the feel of v2. To start with I decided that I liked the look of having a second deflector dish on top of the saucer. It wasn’t hard to do, it just requires that the top open toward the ship instead of away. I add gray paneling to the saucer to give the impression that the ship as been armored up. I added impulse engines to the top of the saucer. In adding the armor I had to redesign the aft torpedo launcher. The v2 you could actually reach them and remove them to have the ship “fire”, now it just opens for show. The back still opens to show main engineering and the warp core. I slightly modified the warp core ejector but not much. It still has the hidden hatch that opens to release the core. I also decided to change the bottom deflector dish fro red to blue as an “upgrade”. I added a forward torpedo launcher but its really only their for show. I added red bricks to make where the bridge is supposed to be more visible. The inside had the most upgrades. Sickbay was first; I felt that it wasn’t up to the newest medical advancements. I moved the bed and added an arm that doubles for a scanner and also is used to hold a patient down. I also added a research station for the doctor to run his test. The second thing upgraded was the armory. I didn’t do much except update the phasers and rearrange where it was located. I did however add a helmet rack for the hazard team. The bridge ended up getting the most remodeling done. I pulled out the center ops/con station and replaced it with a two man ops and con. I used the newest monitors and added newer control stations. I also took the tactical and operations and gave them seats. I ripped out the dual chair system in favor of the original series style captain’s chair. I gave it a circular base and raised the armrest and added a better back.. When it’s all said and done this model is my most advanced as far as new parts and new ideas. The only problem I have is it has no lights and I’m not sure that I will add them.
