The Saab Sonett I was a small and light, open top sportscar with an FMF - layout (Engine behind front axle, with front wheel drive).
On March 16 1956, the Saab Sonett, also called the Super Sport or Saab 94, was introduced at Stockholm's Bilsalong (motor show). It had a three-cylinder, 748 cc two-stroke engine generating 57.5 bhp.
The name Sonett doesn't have anything to do with poetry, as you might think, but it was derived from the swedish slang expression "Så nätt den är", translated as "how neat it is".
Only six sonett I were produced, because it was a prototype.
Later, a Saab sonett II and III were commercialised, but the first one is a valuable collector's item
I have built one in LDD, and I think it looks good. Only the wheels should be different.
the doors and hood open
the exhaust should be at the side, but that was impossible and it looks better at the back
