I built a stargfighter that I called an escort, then it had nothing to escort! So I built a star-bomber too. Where the escort is very sleek, I wanted this thing to look bulky and cumbersome. The Tsai is named for the artist who did the sketch which served as the original inspiration. It only ended up with a passing resemblance to the sketch (which I don't have anymore) but the defining features are still there.
In addition to the four main guns, the Tsai carries four missile racks, 18 missiles each, 72 total. The front racks must be retracted before the rear racks can be fired, so the fighter must make two passes on a single target to deliver the full payload.
The landing gear retract! The middle skids were an afterthought to help support the weight, but the front and rear skids are a design that's been sitting in my ideas folder for a long time.
It took a good long while to make the cockpit hatch work. And since it is such a pain to take the cockpit apart, you get renders of the inside instead of pictures.
This is the biggest MOC I've done to date, and the design actually sat for close to 3 months half finished before I finally solved a few issues and completed it, and the design suffered for those facts. There are a few places where it isn't as sturdy as I'd like it to be, two of the missile racks are very loose in the bay, the other two are almost too tight to pull out, and the bay doors don't stay closed well. But over-all I like the look.
MLCAD file is provided, but some modifications were made during the build that it doesn't reflect.

Great overall design, I think you're rude with yourself about details!! I like the white and green color scheme you chose. Very well-done landing gear too.
The missile-racks are just awesome! O.M.G! What a powerfull beast!
Wow, nice work! I like the colour scheme and there's so much to play with - retracting landing gear, all those hatches that open up, that missile rack looks great too. The windscreen combination is quite interesting and I like the design of the engines.
Those robot arms will support a surprising amount of weight if there are enough of them. Ask me in a couple months if they are bending. I added two extra skids during design just to be safe, but unless the surface it is on is perfectly flat, usually one or two aren't actually supporting anything anyway.
Amazing and beautiful! The level of detail is astounding! Love the landing gear and missile racks! This is truly a force to be reckoned with! Although, I have to ask how that manages to stay up on the landing gear. It looks a tad heavy for the skids.
