The Pere Marquette Berkshire type steam locomotive #1225
About this creation
The locomotive that was used as the base for the movie 'Polar Express'. The real Pere Marquette #1225 currently pulls excursion runs for tourists.
My tender has reversible walls, so I decided to add 'Pere Marquette' stickers so I could change the locomotive from being the Polar Express if I need to. After all, not all displays are Christmas oriented.
An old picture of the original tender, illustrating the reversible walls.

THAT'S AWESOME!!! My great grandfather worked on the Pere Marquette, and actually worked with some of these exact engines. So it's pretty cool to see one rendered in lego.
This creation is so awsome!! Looks just like the real thing. I've copied the pilot truck
axle design and it works great! Nice tender and detail. And by the way, how can I create my own stickers ?
Nice looking model but I have one query. You made the name less festive so that it would be suitable for all. Has this got to do with not showing religious stuff as seems to be the way things are done in the US? If so, doesn't Pere Marquette mean Father Marquette, which is even more religious?
