Razor Blaze
The Razor Blaze is a fearsome star fighter piloted by the space pirate, Captain Rip Tide!
About this creation
Captain Rip Tide was once the leader of a large gang of space pirates. His gang was wiped out in an epic battle with Long John Squiders pirate gang. After the battle, the few remaining survivors of Rip's gang were scattered, and Rip was left unconcious under the wreckage of a massive battle ship. After he had crawled out from the rubble, Rip "strongly disliked" Squider, and made it his personal hobby to attack and destroy Squider's gang whenever they crossed paths, hoping that one day Squiders henchmen would be wiped out, and the two of them could settle the conflict one on one, in a fight to hte death.

After the battle, Captain Rip Tide needed a new ship, a small personal fighter with a powerful punch. He found a ship that would suit his needs, unfortunatly it was an experimental craft newly created and controlled by the military, and they weren't going to let him have it. so long story short (I may make a moc that tells the long story, eventaully) he stole it, and they never made a new one. But since it was an extremely classified and experimental ship, it was easily recognizable by those who wanted it back. So Rip brought the ship to a friend of his...

Happy Mechario! Mechario is an expert mechanic, and he specializes in altering ships, so that if someones looking for a specific ship, Mechario will add some fins, fixed up the engines, shorten the cockpit, make the wings wider, anything the customer wants, and when he's done, not even the original owners would know it was once their ship. And if you pay him a little extra, he wont tell the original owners that it was once their ship. With the right amount of money, he might even forget he worked on the ship, and he might accidently erase it from his data banks.

So Mechario altered Rips new ship. He made the engines larger, so that the ship would be capable of hyperspace travel, and he made the back larger and included a small cargo bay (for loot and weapons).

As you can see, the cargo bay can actually hold quite a lot of stuff. Here we see Rip with a WF-50 Sniper Rifle. The Wf-50 is a special sniper rifle manufactured exclusivly for space pirates by a secret company that only the space pirate captains can contact. But the company makes the pirates pay a lot of money for these guns, so most gangs only have a few and they usually only use them for protecting their bases, because if the sniper gets killed in a running gun battle, then the enemy gang would have one more of these very expensive weapons. So the Captains keep a tight hold on their WF-50s.

The WF-50 is nicknamed the "Wolf Jaw" rifle, because of it's interesting shape.

The most interesting part about the Razor Blaze, is that it actually changes shape for combat. You may have noticed the rockets on the underside of the right wings, and you may have noticed that the rockets face parallel to the wings, in the normal flight mode, these rockets would be useless, but in attack mode...

The rockets face the front AND the BACK!

There is also a heavy laser cannon on each of the right wings. These are much more powerful than the standard cannons on the front of the ship.

Notice the glow-in-the-dark pieces on the ends of the wings, these are special high intensity laser emitters called Micro-Claws. They emit thin laser beams of the highest intensity. The beams act exactly the same as a little hand held laser pointer (except they are WAY more powerful), when the laser is on, a continous beam extends from the Micro-Claw to whatever surface is in front of the beam, so it does not function like the laser fired from a blaster. I tried to draw the effect with MS Paint (cause i don't have any of the fancy image editing software) so here is what the lasers would look like.

The effect of the Micro-Claw is a wall of thin lazers shooting out from the side of the Razor Blaze. If any ship were to fly through the beams, the ship would be sliced up like a loaf of bread. The beams of the Micro-Claws can slice right through most armour, and can severely weaken any armour strong enough to resist immediate penetration.

Here are some pictures of the back when the ship is in attack mode.

And finally just a collection of photos from different angles and stuff.

I made this moc for a very curious reason. First of all, my parents went to the mall of america (without me or my sisters) and they have Pick-a-Brick there. And my parents decided to get me some awesome pieces that I only have a few of, in a colour I didn't have those pieces in, and they got me 10+ of the light blue 2x6 right wedges but none of the LEFT 2x6 wedges, and a 4 12x3 left wedges but only 2 of the 12x3 RIGHT wedges. so I had a bunch of wedges that did not have a match. And this was my solution. The ship started out with a different colour scheme and a different windshield design, but when I decided to post it, I also decided to change the windshield, and i like it much better this way. Heres a few more various pictures of the ship (I take way too many pictures don't I?)

Thanks for viewing my moc, I'm currently working on a story, and my space pirate mocs will be used in it, and Captain Rip Tide and his quest to destroy Long John Squider will be a major part of the plot. Anyway, I won't beg you to rate and comment, because you probably already know that people appretiate comments :D

oh, yeah. feel free to use my WF-50 Sniper Rifle design, but make sure you give me credit for it. And if anyone else has made a gun with that design already, then sorry, but I'm not giving you credit because I had never seen a gun design like my WF-50 on mocpages before I made mine, so if you have already made a gun with this design, then I guess great minds think alike :D

First, thanks for all the praise. The shape and design of this one really caught my eye. Like the repeating patterns a lot too.

Hmmm, this looks like a crossbreed between a colourful fish, a bird of paradise and... whatever! Nice combination of colours and shapes, I really like that. A great ship for a space pirate!

thanks for the comments guys.
Quoting Yuri Fassio It's still quite multicolored, but I really like the design. It may need a bit more curves in the dongpit, though.
i used up all my flat hinges in this, so that's why those parts are different colours. and i used up a lot of my slope pieces and so i had to use some black pices as well as the grey and blue, but it's a lot less multicoloured than the first version (which i have no pictures of). and i was experimenting with the castle piece in the front of the ship, and i decided to keep it the way it is, cause it makes it look like the bottom jaw of an evil fish, which also went well with the crazy wings/fins.

Very cool, I love the asymetric look, the design is wacky and awesome, kinda like some of Steef De Prow's stuff. Keep up the good work!
