A 6-wide model of a series III Landie pickup with a few accessories and working suspension.
About this creation
This is an entry for the small category of a 'For The Love Of Cars' competition.
It features opening doors, bonnet and tailgate, proper working suspension on all four wheels and enough room inside for a minifig.

Engine detail. It doesn't work of course - some would say that makes this a highly realistic Land Rover.... I couldn't possibly comment..

Doors and tailgate open ...

A view of how the suspension works. It uses opposing arms to mount the axles, pulled together by an elastic band.

When you drop it, it bounces...

Complete with oversize tyres and too many lights. Just right for the school run..

With thanks to Land Rover for their helpfully blocky styling..

Quoting Sam the first This is good, but I'd love to see you have another crack at this.
Wow Sam, you've been digging! Glad you like it, although of course it'd be done better now.

Lovely little Landie :) I've always wanted to build one of these. The Mangusta is a car I've wanted to build for a while now, I'm not sure it'll be easy, but I might give it a go to my usual scale. I'm thinking of making something a little easier with the technic until I get the basics back, might cop out and use a chassis from an actual set and tweak it to my liking, I struggle with all that technical stuff. I was thinking of making an old Merc SL convertible. That car is so classy and has simple lines lol

Very simple representation in a way, but it truly catches the Landy spirit! I love the clever suspension.

cool and functionnal! everything opens, the engine details! suspension?wow! transparent windshield and front lights, would have made it look a little better though! but the fun of the feeling of it rolling over obstacles must be something! the technics oriented vehicles always has the best rolling fun feeling of all lego themes! i miss that sometimes! cool jeep!

Very effective in a nice tight package. But you sound like a skeptical fan of the real thing, at best.
