The Gerry Lennox Telethon is trying to raise money for unfortunate minifigs who have limited mobility. Won't you please help?
About this creation

I work as a kindergarten teacher, and we have kids with special needs. It occurred to me that all of my Lego people were pretty fit. But they didn't have to be. What if someone lost the use of his or her legs? Or never had it in the first place?

OK, calm down. They are only plastic toys. But where were the wheelchairs?

I went through several different ways to build one, before I finally found one that met all my criteria:

1) It was simple.
2) It was sturdy.
3) It wasn't as big as the Smart Car set.
4) It was simple.

I think it's cute. But now I have to build ramps for all my buildings. &%$@!

I was asked to do the Jerry Lewis telethon this year. I was seeing if anyone else had a MDA related MOC. Cool!

Eleven elements and a Fig...pure genius! We've got another great Member of the Gang here who's also a Kindergarten Teacher...Dave Kaleta. So many MOCpagers are Educators- Wes Pitter, Dennis Price, Arthur Gugick. Johnny and I aren't Teachers, but we're involved with these great Builders frequently, both here and in the Real World. We actually spend most of our Lego time in Real World activities designed to enhance interest in reading and creativity/cooperation skills for Children. We've got some great stories about the power of Lego!
