About this creation

And so for the rest of that day the team walked along the pitch-black tunnel with only their lamps to aid their sight.
“Um… R.K.?” Jelli asked after a few hours of solid walking.
“Hmm… Yes?”
“Do… Do you actually know where we’re going?”
“Yes. Yes I’m fairly sure.” He replied.
“Oh good. I was starting to…”
“As long as there aren’t any junctions.” Blast interrupted.
“What, so if we come across a junction we’re stuffed?!” Jelli asked.
“Um…” Blast thought for a moment. “Yup.” He finally said.
“Oh great.” Jelli said sarcastically and walked back to walk with Vasilios.

Walking in the tunnel, they made better progress than they did above ground because of there was no blizzard and so after a few more hours Blast decided that they should stop for the night.
“We’re almost there now.” They had found a spacious alcove off to the side of the tunnel to rest in. They troops all sat in a circle on the ground around a large clump of moss that they had managed to set fire to.
“Almost where?” the medic asked. “The F.I.S. base?”

“Yes. The F.I.S. base.” Blast replied and stretched his hands out towards the fire to warm them.

“But we’re still underground and the tunnel doesn’t appear to be heading upwards.” One of the troops asked.
“Yes but don’t forget that most of the base is underground as well. It’s only the boarding deck and main entrance that pokes above ground.” One of the other troops answered his comrade’s question.
“Oh right. O.K.”
“So everyone knows the plan, yes?” Blast checked and there was a chorus of Yes’s in response. “Good. Now everyone get some sleep. We’ve got a busy day tomorrow.”

And so they all lay down either where they were or up against the wall of the alcove and drifted off to sleep, dreaming dreams of attacking the F.I.S.’s base the next day and coming out in victorious glory.

Dawn broke over Hoth on the day of the surprise attack. On The Manipulator’s bridge, Nightblaze, who had been left in charge, stood with his hands behind his back looking out of the main window over the beautiful snow that glistened in the early morning sunlight.

The doors swooshed open behind him and he turned to see who had come in.
Falcon walked gingerly across the room to him in his bedclothes. He had woken up for the first time yesterday and had been told he was slowly recovering. This was the first time he had been for a walk since the attack. Last night he had had to be cut out of his armour it was so damaged and so now he was armour-less.

“Falcon. How are you?” Nightblaze asked.
“Better thank you.” He replied holding his side.
“I’m glad to hear it.”
“Any news from the team? How are they doing?” Falcon had been told all about the planned attack on the base.
“None. Absolutely nothing. But they should be entering the base any time now.”

And so they were…

Back in the underground tunnel the U.R.S. squad had been walking for around quarter of an hour but had now come to a dead end.
“Great. Now what do we do?” one of the troops asked.

“Patience Forrel.” Blast replied and moved his hands around the rock face ahead of them.
“Patience.” The troop named Forrel repeated in dismay earning a look from Blast who then gripped a small stone in the wall and gave it a tug.

There was a quiet rumble and the whole wall ahead of them moved slightly. Blast pushed on the same rock and the wall slid away to the left revealing a corridor running horizontal to them beyond. The stone had been a handle. Even though they were wearing helmets, Blast could tell their mouths had all fallen open.

“Yes. Patience.” He said once again to Forrel. “Now, lets go.” He stepped forwards and poked his head into the corridor. He looked to the right. Nothing.

He looked left. Nothing. “All clear.”

He whispered and they moved out into the corridor. “This way.” Blast said indicating to the left and quick-stepped away followed by vigilant the team.
They came to the end of the corridor and prepared to take the turning to the right but Blast lined them up along the corridor wall.

“O.K.” he whispered to them. “Vasilious at the back. Then Sator.” He indicated to the medic and lined them all up in order as he spoke. “Zak, Forrel, Shock.” He moved the three troops into line. “Hess, Jelli, Padfoot and then I will lead.” He finished the line-up.

“GO!” he whispered loudly and in order they rounded the corner.
R.K. fired a single shot to destroy a security camera halfway down this longer corridor but this too was deserted of F.I.S. troops.

They moved off, keeping close to the right-side wall, but a little way along there was a closed door with a window in it. They ducked down and crouched-walked underneath the window.

Once they were clear they stood up and continued down the corridor.
