Work process - not WIP
About this creation
Hello everyone

I was thinking one day - yes it does happen sometimes...

Having dismantled my truck for the 100th time and damning ABS's rigidity and wishing LEGO was made from steel(only joking)I was wondering how other people build LEGO. How is theire work process? Do they also just go by trial and error?(and sometimes mostly error)

Curious about this I took a few pictures of my building process hoping others would do the same.

Here goes...

Truck chassis and dismantled crane. I put to much tension on the beams and it got very bendy. A shame 'cause it was quite a clever construction if I say so myself.

Trial and error on my Mocs and lots of re-thinking, I was really thinking while looking at all of your how BAD I want ALL of your PARTS!!!!

Although it may not be practical to make your MOC out of "Steel", it IS possible to make it out of aluminum: .

Probably due to a mix of a lack of parts and talent, I typically redesign each part of a functioning vehicle 10 or more times over. Non-functioning models are done at almost the first attempt though

Yes, I also go through lots of trial and error when making MOC's. Every system has to be redesigned between 3 and 6 times before functioning properly. And sometimes parts get damaged when testing models that still have flaws (I've lost 3 gears while testing my new super-car chassis, which I hope to publish soon).

Hey, dude. I know the problems. I often face the same. Everything's alright in the head but when you actually make it it's either too heavy or something else is wrong. Either way I've learned that you have to make some sort of balance between weight and the strength of the parts. As for the wheels don't you thing they might be a bit too thick for the truck? Anyways lots of luck with the build. So far it looks mean! ;)
