This is my first try at the F-35B. I'm building this with no other lego references, my own original design only pictures of the real F-35B were referred to. I like how it's turning out so far, I have fully functioning fins, elevators, thrust nozzles for roll, lift fan doors.
I still need doors for the bottom part of the lift fan and I still need a lift fan.
About this creation
Here's the front of the plane, when I looked at the real F-35 I noticed that it has a flat "belly", which was convenient because making curved hulls is hard legos.
I'm happy with the way the side is turning out because every thing looks proportionate, especially the fins which actually looks like they could move the plane unlike my F-22 build.
I still can't get over how awkward this plane looks with landing gears, luckily you guys don't have to see it. Birds view of the plane, looks ready to just take off doesn't it?
Here's what the top lift fan doors look like when they're open, I really enjoyed building them to look like they don't exist when they are closed.
From this view you can see how the main thrust nozzle works and that it has space to vector about a full 100 degrees.
Here's another picture of the nozzle partially vectored.
Here's my F-35 next to my F-22 they look pretty good in my opinion, like the real thing my F-35 is just about shorter than the F-22
Coming in for a vertical landing, if you don't to be squashed flat then get out of my way!
Feel free to ask questions, and tell me what I could fix. I still need a central thrust fan that can fit in the 4 stud x 4 stud x 2 bricks high space and a door to go under it.
