This is "Toothless" and "Hiccup" from the Dreamworks film "How to Train your Dragon"
The film is also a loosely-based book adaptation.
About this creation
It has been a month and a half since "How to Train your Dragon"
came out, and I must have been the last humankind to have first seen
it a month ago (It took me a month to build. I blame my long bricklink order)
After watching it I was overcome with inspiration and wanted to make the life-sized dragon called "Toothless". But I found it very complicated to build, especially the head, so there will be NO instructions (or I will hunt you down -sarcasm)
For some background scenery, I added a small portion of the canyon from the movie.
Possibly one of my favorite scenes from the movie, where the two get
closely acquainted with each other in their "forbidden frienship".
A wider shot of the canyon.
Dragon's don't eat people, they eat fish!
A new harness! ...or is it briefcase??
And what's up with Hiccup's chest harness? How weird is that.
Toothless also reminds of me of some SCIFI stealth fighter that moves unseen through space, shooting a powerful energy weapon at an unsuspecting target.
Hmmm... great idea! But for another time.
A close up shot of Hiccup and Toothless.
This is the back shot of the Nightfury. Knowing that the dragon's prosthetic wing was a leathery color I couldn't find any "brown" wings, so a red wing sufficed.
Here is one of my early renditions for the dragon's complex tail.
Since Dreamworks WILL be making a sequel (yay!) I will be making more Lego built dragons in the future (maybe even a Boneknapper?)

Ok, this is where things get messy. The instruction file I've had for Toothless has been lost/destroyed/flew off/etc, and the only image I have is the design for his head.
As for my newest Night Fury model (seen from the Moc, Skrill Showdown) I have been re-building it, making it sturdier. The dragon is now completed, I just need the time from my life to make easy step-by-step instructions that everyone can follow.
Nicely done! That's a fun movie to be sure. I was actually just designing Hicup for the heck of it, and I used the same shoulder-pad technique (not having seen yours yet). Funny. Nice job on Toothless too!
I must thank you for such amazing inspiration. I have admired your Nightfury from the first time I saw it. Now that I am on moc pages, I can thank you properly. The build is incredible. The dragon is breath taking. The entire httyd line is unbelievably cool. I have added a few new dragons recently, so if you get the chance you could let me know what you think. I think I would fall out of my chair if I came on one day and found myself as one of your favorite builders (don't go and make me one just because I said that though). You are the Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III of lego dragons, and that is saying something!
great moc, very accurate toothless, (and the red tail wing is good, because at the end, he gets a new one in that coler) i also like your hicup, he's just as accurate as all your figs and dragons, perfectly done.
This is even better than my dragon you commented on! I love the level of detail on this moc, and if I had the right colour pieces, I would've altered my dragon design and changed it to Toothless! 3565643354656754/5!
It's very like that from the movie and your V2 is even better, the eyes could be brighter (maybe taking off those black round studs should fix that :D). I loved the movie, and by the way how did you make the music here o.O?
I loved the books, so when the movie came out I was excited. You did a great job on Toothless. Looks like he did in the movie, but the book is WAY different in some parts, but I won't let that take away form how you did. Really good job.
