Continuing with my tour of the Mass Effect ship designs is the Systems Alliance cruiser. As the backbone of the Fifth Fleet, several of these vessels participated in the Battle of the Citadel in 2183. Sovereign plays rough, and many cruisers were destroyed during the battle before Sovereign was ultimately destroyed.
This build is just under four feet long stretching the tape at about 47 inches. The construction is largely studless and was built from primary sources.
While I think the basic shape came out OK, the build isn't especially stable given its weight. Sadly, I had to simplify a lot of the details that make the original model interesting in order to keep the construction sane. I also had to embellish some of the color choices, namely the grey areas, as I quickly depleted my supply of white bricks.
Trivia: the in-game model is named as a dreadnaught though the ship has to be a cruiser given the lore of the game.
Very Impressive and very well detailed given its over all size. I only wish i had the $300 to blow on bricks and I'd make this. PS the IS an Alliance cruiser the design it well documented as being a cruiser on the mass effect wiki in addition to in game dialogue in ME2 confirming the losses in the Battle of the Citadel as cruisers
If you take another look at the very ending of the game where Sovereign is finally destroyed, there are some great establishing shots of the scales of the two ship types:

For these vessels to also be frigates, the Normandy must be a really small one and these must be really big ones :)
This is Amazing! This is one of my favorite Ships in SciFi and of course Mass Effect! But there is a failure. Its not a cruiser. The ship is a frigate.
But its really, really cool! Excellent Work!
