A trainer surfs out onto the Lake of Rage, when a shiny Red Gyarados rises out of the stormy waters.
About this creation
I was given this challenge by my wife to make a Gyarados. Since we had more appropriate red bricks than blue ones, I thought of making the Red Gyarados from heartgold/soulsilver. This grew into a scene that exhausted all the blue in the house, most of the green, and then some. :)
Trees courtesy of my daughter Zoe, and bricks stolen from anyone who had the right shape & color in the house.
My daughter's minifig makes a run for it...
and I don't blame her. That thing is big.
Pokeball in hand, he's not sure this was the best idea...
Either that or he's going to need a bigger Mantine.
Hi Matt (:
I'm itching to build this Gyarados for a Lego animation for my YouTube channel, but I'm not sure I'd know how to, straight off. If it's not too much trouble, could you maybe tell me what bricks I need or just a rough guide on how to assemble it? I'd obviously give you credit in the video when it's finished. (: Please try and reply to this, Cheers -Ross
This is amazing and weirdly beautiful.
If it's not too much trouble, I am extremely anxious to build this but I don't know how I'd begin or finish. I'm planning on using it in a Youtube video. All credit for the building design would go to you, obviously. Could you help me out? (:
Really great! I love pokemon and esoecially the silver edition. I want to thank you for building this!

Definitely one of the nicest models in the group. Awesome scene, the Gyarados looks perfect, love the 'wiskers' hanging from his chin. I recall my brothers catching this guy in the original Gold and Silver. This MOC brings back memories...
Amazingly accurate, I especially love the face. Never heard of Mantine, haven't played a Pokemon game since the original silver. :P

It took me forever to catch the red gyarados on crystal version when i was a kid. . . The build is very nice, and to scale in my educated poke-opinion, considering i played the games from age 6-13ish. well done
