About this creation
Finally, my pride and joy of all lego creations, my original Mazda RX-7 FD3S model revised and tuned to resemble the Mazdaspeed version of Mazda's greatest Rotary engine car. I've taken drastic steps to change and improve my original RX-7 model, now featuring a Mazdaspeed front bumper and side skirt, slightly lowered rear bumper along with a carbon fiber rear diffuser, over the top carbon fiber wing, new racing seats and slightly altered interior, and other small changes here and there. Sadly the engine bay remains the same, still a holding a turbo tuned 13B rotary engine. I've actually had this model done quite a long time ago, but never got around to taking pics and working on a Page for it, but finally here it is in all its glory and such. As well, out of all honesty from all my years of tinkering with legos this is probably the thing reguard as the best model I've ever done. Of course there are still it's faults, though I patched up the C-piller a bit, it still looks iffy, as well the Mazdaspeed parts I tried to replicate aren't perfect, and the usual proportions don't replicate the car exactly. Nevertheless, enjoy the many pics of the model below!
Close up on the spoiler stands, I do admit I'm quite satisfied with how it turned out
Close up on the rear diffuser and muffler, the rear diffusers sadly were not based off any existing aftermarket diffusers on the RX-7
A look into the Driver's seat area, the 3 pedals being the clutch, brake, and accelerator, though something tells me I might have set it up wrong >_<
Passenger seat, not much to see here, and yes I'm aware of the lack of footspace, sadly though I cannot do much to fix this
The trunk area, not much to show
Here it is, the engine bay, a turbo'd 13B engine already tuned with such aftermarket parts. This area remains pretty much the same as before on the original RX-7 model
Close up on the side intakes, like the Mazdaspeed sideskirts it slightly covers up a portion or the intake
Of course, the flip up headlight features still remain
A shot with all features open
here you can kind of judge the accuracy of the lego model with the actual model, on the screen being the actual Mazdaspeed RX-7 with the front bumper and side skirt
Finally, one last shot of the model...
That's all for my model, I don't have any future plans for this, for now I'm sure for a long time it's going to remain as a nice desk decor and it's going to be a long time until I ever scrap it, if I ever decide to. Anyhow, please leave any comments, positive or negative, all is appreciated, even more so with pointers and tips. If you enjoyed veiwing this model, please do check out my other Lego Creations on my page =P
