So this is my entry for -AlexR- "Design your own LEGO Halo Set Contest" [On Flickr] with the help of The Slushey One's background layout and my own little touches I give you this set! I was restricted on piece so please don't be so hard on me for being accurate, but I added some playable features.
Here is the Hornet if it were Boxed [NOT REAL!]
Cockpit opens in an interesting way
Turrets move for those who have imaginations and like to pretend that they are shooting
This is my Favorite, Rotatable Engines for flying effects
You just had to make it look older by adding the outdated LEGO logo. Sorry but the current logo has all black in between the hole of the "O" and is slightly more bold and cleaner. The model itself was good, although the minifigures were lacking in quality.
This is fantastic. MOC's like this make me wish that LEGO got the Halo license. Megablocks made some cool sets but it seems like they cant make a complex shape without a million custom pieces. Also, I won't buy Megablocks on general principle.
if you told me that lego did launch a halo serie, i would had asked you anout where you got this one. brilliant, it looks just like something lego would produce, also the box is great, and i think its pretty acurate throught.
(unnear the turning turrets ofcourse) but else it acurate, i love it

Hey Robo Man, Would it be alright if I tweaked your engine design for my Hornet? I have the body of the hornet without the engines sitting on my shelf and I really think your engines are unique.
That is how it's done, Robo! I thought it was an actual released set when I first viewed the beginning of the page. Fantastic work and I'd be surprised and disappointed if you didn't win the competition. -Dylan
The only thing that concerns me are how you attached the wings. The bother me as they stick out and I think technic pins would have done better. Other then that, perfect. You make the set look real. Only if it were.
Wow, great hornet. You were definitely spot-on, it looks exactly like a LEGO system set. I'm a bit bugged by whatever is sticking out on top of the twin engines, but other than that I love it. My favorite thing has got to be the passengers and the rail that they are hanging onto, I'm not sure why but as simple as it is that one part just tops it off. Smart design for the rotating turrets, that idea cauldn't have been done any other way. Overall a great moc, simple, but innovative!
