Mrs Käfer's Flower Shop
A little blue flower shop made almost exclusively with the bricks from the big VW Beetle model (10187) - hence the name Käfer=Beetle.
About this creation
Now the Beetle is a nice set, but since it now had to share the space on my main book cabinet with the new Space Shuttle and since I'm working on expanding my little city, I thought I could make a house from its parts. Looking at the item list, I thought it might work to use only the Beetle's bricks (except for the obvious stuff like windows), so I turned this into a little challenge for myself – and it worked...

The next four images show the front, back, roof and interior with only windows, doors and base plate added (and one little 1x2 Technic brick for the connectors to the other buildings, since the Beetle only had 3):

Between the floors, the black grilles are standing in for real tiles - luckily they happen to be just enough for all floors. Depending on what I need next, I might still change them.

In several places, there are plates instead of bricks - there are a lot of plates in the Beetle -, and the side walls aren't that pretty, but, well, they're just side walls. :)

Now let's add some flowers! And Mrs Käfer, of course:

(And an owl I found.)

And we got a satisfied customer! (And pavement and lantern.)

The leftovers from the Beetle set:

A couple of things I like about this one and both are related to imagination and creativity is you used a non-modular set - The Beetle (a car) to make a house! Secondly you did the max in a space 16x32 stubs wide! That gave me inspiration. And both more then lived up to the LEGO Ideal! Here I liked the following attention to detail: The Green House in the rear of the store, the stairs leading to the apartment and the light fixtures. Reminding me I had to place them in mine! Lego costs money and time and the treasure of our imagination it seems you have all 3!!!! Good Building to you!

Beautiful building. I like the challenge of using only the bricks from one set. This makes this even more impressive. And it's a set of a different theme!
