My second skyscraper based off of Spencer Rezkalla's original design. This model took close to a week to design and two months to complete. The building features rare chrome color pieces used to make a beautiful spire upon which sits a tall antenna. Completed August 30, 2009.
The Empire State Building is a 103-story, art deco skyscraper which held the title of world's tallest building from 1931 to 1970. The building reaches a height of 1,250 ft, measured to the architectural tip.
Construction began on March 17, 1930 and was completed on May 1, 1931; only a year-and-a-half later. More than 3,400 workers contributed to the construction. The project was part of a competition throughout New York City to construct the world's tallest building. Both the Chrysler Building, a few block east, and 40 Wall Street, further south in Lower Manhattan, both held the title for less than a year each, before the Empire State Building was completed. Its staggering height secured its title by quite a large margin, holding it for nearly forty years.

The trademark crown atop the building is said to have been designed similar to the mooring mast of a ship.
