The Falcon is a futuristic aerial drone in the Mandatory Arbitration group. they seemed a bit lacking in the way of aerial drones, so i built one.
About this creation
main pic without title, and also with black background.
anyway, the falcon is a Mandatory arbitration aerial drone. it has an impressive array of features.
front left side. Main armament is a pair of 40 mm autocannons, it is also armed with four Thermal Acquisition and lock-On Napalm missiles, or T.A.L.O.N. missiles for short.
Back left. visible here is the rear turret, armed with a pair of 30 mm autocannons, used for taking out pesky infantry or rival aircraft. also visible are the engines, which had a piece of what they look like in flight sneak into one of the earlier pics. (shh... don't tell anyone).
right side. here we see the engines in flight, an it also looks like the turret has found some "target practice."
Front. here, we have a good view of the four poles on top, used for "hanging" it (pun intended) in a ship or ground based Hangar. also, we see the main intake for the engines. the other intakes are located at the front of the drone, right between the cannons and the sensors.
left side closeup. here we see one of two communication antennae. there is also a light on the same mount, useful for night missions when it is returning to friendly airspace. also visible is a red light on the left rear wing, used for the same purpose. there is a corresponding blue light on the right wing.
Front closeup. here we see the array of sensors for the pilot. the two blue ones are ordinary cameras, whose images are meshed together to act more like "eyes," this gives the pilot a better sense of depth. the red brick is a thermal imaging camera, useful for the TALON missiles. and the green one is a state-of-the-art night vision camera, able to produce a clear image of a human sized target at roughly 7.5 miles distance.
overview(pun sorta intended) here, we can clearly see the MANDATORY yellow stripe, and how it "bends" just before ending its horizontal travels.
Now, before you comment and say "hey, the rear rudders look kinda wimpy." There are two good reasons for that.
1. the big rudder only comes in white in LDD.
2. There are 4 little rudders, not just two. the modern day Predator drone has downward-facing rudders as well.
the only think i don't like on this build is the front wings: they look too thick.
having said that, however, i love how the Yellow stripe turned out.
