Hail weary traveller. I am the Bard Stuart of Derby. Perhaps I may entertain you?
Legend tells of the famous outlaw Robin Hood. Along with his band of merry men, he robbed the rich and gave to the poor. His home was the forest of Sherwood.
Legend is less kind to another outlaw, the infamous Robin Banks. Let us hear of him, through song!
(Dum dada dum dada dum dada dum, Dum dada dum dada dum dada dum) Sing along!
Robin Banks, Robin Banks, lives outside the law.
Robin Banks, Robin Banks, he’ll punch you in the jaw.
Feared by the rich, he never says thanks,
Robin Banks, Robin Banks, Robin Banks!
Robin Banks, Robin Banks, with his sidekick Handsome Jeff.
Robin Banks, Robin Banks, he should be put to death.
He’s violent and rude, vicious and drunk,
He even smells, just like a rotting skunk!
Robin Banks, Robin Banks, and his band of thieves.
Robin Banks, Robin Banks, it’s your stuff he receives.
He’ll sell it back, and thinks it’s a prank,
Robin Banks, Robin Banks, Robin Banks!
Robin Banks, Robin Banks, he takes away your gold.
Robin Banks, Robin Banks, he’ll leave you broke and cold.
Does he visit the poor and share out his wealth?
No he don’t, he keeps it for himself!
Robin Banks, Robin Banks, his tale now is done.
Robin Banks, Robin Banks, if you meet him just run.
If you get away, then offer up your thanks,
Robin Banks, Robin Banks, Robin Banks!!!!!!

Handsome Jeff is named in the best tradition of English nicknames - he actually looks like somebody set his face on fire and put it out with a shovel.
So, I’m not a castle guy (although the jury is still out on what I actually am…) and my collection of parts is a little light on castle pieces, grey, etc. Added to the fact that I was on holiday this week so this was a two-night build, it was never going to be a vast keep or a motte and bailey (see, I know all those terms, I am English you know). I did want to showcase my building off though (did you like my attempt at a little stained-glass window?)and not default back to ‘funny story guy’, so hopefully this is a happy-halfway point. Anybody now stuck with the theme to 'The Adventures of Robin Hood' in their head for the rest of the day, you're welcome.
As far as the ‘Classic’ castle elements go, I interpreted it as Castle pre-2007, i.e. no trolls, undead or dwarves. As I said before, I don’t have any Wolfpack or original Forestmen, etc. so everything is medieval themed and in line with the creations posted to ‘Classic Castle.Com’ (although not in the same class as some!).I hope that’s satisfactory for the judges. I certainly hope you all liked it, and thanks for looking.
Well, since Hans (predictably) has already responded with the most simple and rudimentary form of poetic prose, I'll have to think of some other way to make my comment interesting. Hmm.....no such luck. Another great build. Tough luck, though, having your opponent drop out like that, without even posting an entry. I mean, honestly, who does something like that?
Of course, I normally visit your page for a good laugh. But you treat us to a great composition here, as well. The angled building and archway guided me through the dio beautifully and gave a nice sense of continuity to the build.
Quoting Flare .
Hahaha... 2 day build? I laugh in your face, thats unbelievable. But on the other hand I take that laugh back, in fear of your mightiness.
Quail mortal! Seriously, I knew my category and had decided what to build before I went camping but my last night before going was packing for the trip and Friday I couldn't start until I had packed the kids off to bed - all my building is done between the hours of 8 and midnight, sometimes later but I pay for it the next day. I only hope that next round, with all my nights free, I can build five times better!
Great job! That's a rather agreeable traditon you Brits have. Shame about your opponent though.
Anywho, this was a fun build! You pulled off the castle look quite well, and I love that you wrote a little song to accompany it.
You rock my good fellow! this is an outstanding build! Excuses excuses, not enough bricks peh, not enought time, peh peh! You pull builds out of your as... and leave us all giddy with joy and jealousy.
Excellent build Stu! I think that even if your opponent had posted you would have made it through to the third round! Way to stick with it my man....now go grab a few pints and drown yourself in your glorious victory.....I surely am!
I like it

Nicely done. It reminds me of LegoLord's castles, where he has the small houses near the castle. Nice song, too :P.
Awesome, congrats on the win, even if your opponent ran away! This would have been hard to beat regardless. The stainglass and terracotta roof tiles(done by those wood pieces) is a touch of class. As for the rest of the build, plain awesome...
Well rhymed, haha! Clean build as well. One thing is that when I think of classic castle, I think of the same time period as classic space, and the castles were built with yellow bricks when they first came out. 'Pay no attention to the commenter talking about the past...'. All in all, great MOC.
