Unyielding Providence
All was quiet as the Unyielding Providence made it's way across the Grey Desert... until the Creepers attacked!
About this creation
In the years after the Scorching, water had become a dangerous resource to have... because anyone would to kill to get it. Thus massive facilities were built over the springs and around the few remaining lakes, in order to preserve what was left... and to control the wandering hordes. Those who controlled the water facilities, could control the hordes. Warlords fought to defend their water reserves, and they waged brutal battles to secure additional water facilities from their opponents.

But since water was scarce, it had to be transported. For this purpose, vehicles such as Unyielding Providence were built.

But water transports are delicious targets for wandering bands of raiders...

The Creepers came with the darkness, their weapons lit the night but Unyielding Providence is far from unarmed. The laser turret takes out one creep, while one of the Guards shoots at the second creep from behind a rock.

The Creepers dodge from rock to rock, sneaking closer to the precious water tanks, while the commander defends the water with dual pistols!

The front laser turrets take down one creep, but another creep lits up the night with a flamethrower!

Here's a bunch more detail shots of the dio. some of them are blurry, but that's because using the flash defeats the purpose of taking pictures in a dark room with a blacklight.

Here's some pictures of the dio under normal lighting.

And here's all the people in the dio! such as the sniper, the commander, the drivers, all the Creepers, and my awesome MUSHROOMS!

Interesting story about the mushrooms, I was ordering something on Bricklink, and I saw that the person I was ordering from had a ton of those trans-orange dish pieces, and they were SUPER CHEAP! so I bought them all. So then I wanted to use them for something, and the idea of mushrooms seemed so perfect. Anyway... back to the moc!

~Unyielding Providence~

This section is all about the actual vehicle by itself, so no more dio.

The Cockpit!
This section was interesting to build because the section that the pilots are sitting on is actually an odd number of studs long. I had to do this cause otherwise they wouldn't fit inside the trans-green bubbles. Anyway, so since it's an odd length, I had to work the rest of the front to fit. The pilot on the right steers the vehicle, and the pilot on the left uses the two joysticks to control the laser cannons mounted above the cockpit. and in case you hadn't figured it out yet: YES, THE VEHICLE LOOKS LIKE A CATERPILLAR! It is supposed to look like a caterpillar.

The Navigation and Communication Chamber!
The commander sits in here during the long drive across the wasteland, but he also plans the route, and sends messages to the base. I wanted to have places for each person to put their weapons while they were not fighting, it took me a while to find a good place to put the commanders pistols, but if you look at the last picture, you'll see I found a great place to put them.

The Water Storage Tanks!
Not much to say here except: look at all the cool hoses and technical junk :D

The Rear Defence Unit!
This is where guards sit while the vehicle is in motion. They control the rapid-defence turret, and the precision-cannon. The rapid-defence gun is simply a machine gun that shoots lasers, pretty cool, right? The precision-cannon is like a very large and very powerful sniper rifle, it's used against mechs, aircraft, or other vehicles. The precision-cannon can focus on weak points in armour, or can be used to sever exposed cables, or other vital components, thus crippling the enemy vehicle. The guards are equipped with heavy body armour as well as sniper rifles. Again I found a nifty spot to put their weapons when they are not using them.

The Crew!

The guards are on the left, the commander in the middle, and the pilots on the right. And more pictures underneath.

It was at this point that i dropped the Unyielding Providence, and as you can see, someone got crushed underneath, BUT the pilot is safe inside his bubble! Who needs airbags when you have plastic?

Unyielding Providence can do one more awesome thing... IT CAN TRANSFORM!

well, not really. The middle section can be removed and...

The front and the back can be connected together to make a smaller vehicle that can be used in combat without being hindered by the large transport section in the middle.

Here's a few pictures of the mini Unyielding Providence as well as a few extra pictures.

4th Penguin Commentary!
Everyone else has "4th something-or-others" at the end of their mocs, so now I have one too :D
(I know what the 4th wall is, so just cause I'm using penguins, doesn't mean I'm clueless and just doing it cause everyone else is)
Since I was playing around with my blacklight, I decided to try it on some of my other stuff, one thing that looked really cool, is this one.

So this originally started as an entry for a "battle bugs" (that's why it looks like a caterpillar) contest back in February but I didn't finish it in time, so it sat on my desk for a couple of months (still half finished) Then in about April or May, I picked it up and finished the middle section, but I didn't post it cause I wanted to make a dio for it. But I got distracted with other projects and so I only built the dio in June. But then I was gone almost the whole summer and so now I am FINALLY posting this! One thing I really would like to say is: PRAISE THE LORD THAT MOCPAGES GOT AN UPGRADE! cause uploading all those pictures with the old version would have been DEATH D:
BUT now it was so delicious! I could upload 20 pictures at a time! It was BEAUTIFUL!
This 4th penguin is DONE! In closing, here's a cool picture of the Unyielding Providence aiming his antena beams at you!

4th pic is the best. If they get too dark, just try adjusting you shutter speed manually. Of course you will need a support of some kind for the camera, otherwise it will be Blur Fest 2010 :)
